To beat Wlad, Haye has to be very aggressive. If he stands off he loses. The best tactics for Haye are to jump on Wlad and throw power shots in the first round going for the KO. The only other chance is for Wlad to gas out, but Haye would be Ko'ed before that happens. This could be a huge jabathon for Wlad unless Haye hits him in the moosh early! Sanders is the blueprint here. Wlad's chin and heart are the weak link, he doesn't like taking it back. I would predict this fight lasts less than 4 rounds. It would be an awesome win for Haye, but this fight is much easier than Vitali.
Haye will not look impressive at all vs Klitschko because the Ukrainian's jab is going to take everything Haye has away from him. Haye will be off balance, out of rhythm and under Klitschko's control because of the jab. It's going to be dismissed as a "non-effort" on Haye's part by a lot of people but it will really be that Haye was completely controlled, only I don't think Haye will make it to the final bell unlike Ibragimov.
I think alot of you are in for a shock on 20th june if you think Sanders is a bigger puncher than Haye. You dont have the KO ratio Haye has without being a massive puncher :deal
I don't think so. Klitschko's jab looks so good is because partially because he fights a lot of people who stand in front of him and think they can get a knock out (the other part is that Wlad does have a really great jab!). They are stupid to stand in front of a huge puncher like Wlad. The only person to fight somewhat intelligently against Wlad was Williamson. That fight ended to early by the headbutt though. Haye likes to sort of jump around a lot. If Wlad wins, I think Wlad will probably catch Haye lunging in. I expect a fight with Haye jumping in with power shots, and Wlad doing a lot of clutching. Eventually Wlad will time Haye and hit him with a big shot that will stop him cold. If Haye wins it's because one of those big reckless punches dazes Wlad and Haye can jump on him for a finish.
Ibragimov is a very underrated fighter on this forum. He originally made a name for himself with power. Look at his knockout ratio...look up every single one of his fights before using Jeff Mayweather as head trainer. Iggy, before he retired, was a bad man!!:good
Haye's not the biggest puncher but the best skilled puncher that Wlad has faced... Guys like Sam Peter had the brute strength but they weren't fast nor skilled enough to utilize their punching power effectively. Haye has the speed and he has the proper punching technique to land flush on Wlad.. Then let's see what happens.
After Haye gets done listening to the Red Hot Chili Peppers and is in the ring with Wlad, his demeaner will change. I see him lunging in every one in a while but for the most part, fighting cautiously at the end of Wlad's jab which will inevitably dictate the fight. When he does lunge in, Wlad will just throw his arm over Haye's shoulder, break and start over.
He very well might have decided that the fight against Klitshcko was going to be his last, win or lose. This would definitely explain his lack of willingness to exchange. But, make no mistake about it, he could crack!! If your a real boxing fan, which you definitely sound like it, check out as many fights as you can with Iggy. He had a sledgehammer in his left hand and he threw it with blinding speed. Before Mayweather turned him into a safety first fighter, he was a lot of fun to watch.:good
I agree that he has a great KO ratio, but when so many of them have been lower level opposition it changes things a lot. There aren't a lot of top-ranked guys that he's knocked out. In some ways he got his cruiserweight title shot really quickly because he doesn't have that many fights under his belt. The upside is that he's done well despite that, he is a very good athlete with very good power. Sam Peter had a massive KO ratio ealier in his career, but it has dropped since then because he couldn't get Wlad, McCline, Vitali, Toney, Hawkins or Chambers out of there.
