I think the comparison is fair in some respects, as Haye has done next to nothing at heavyweight. He was the man at 200lb, but now he's fighting guys weight 240lb+. It's a big difference. His hype outweighs his credentials (at heavyweight), as Lacy's did at supermiddle, therefore, the OP has a point.

Exactly. At this point, he's fought nobody at HW, yet he's greatly overrated. His ability to take a HW punch is VERY suspect, and I doubt it's gonna be tested in this fight.

It's jsut another classic example of an American fighter being the next great thing untill a UK fighter bashes him up.

The fights where Lacy has looked poor are all since that fight. Yes clearly the level of opposition has gone up but the JC v JL fight should have been stopped at the latest v early in the 12th.

Even his promoter was on his feet screaming for it to be stopped. How right he was, look at the damage that has been done!

No, Haye is a much better boxer than Lacy. However, how deep can Haye dig down, is he willing to enter the trenches in a tough fight? Will his chin hold up, is his stamina improved? Let's see how he handles Valuev's jab on Saturday.

He unified the Cruiserweight titles, so no.
