Yes he is.

Basically he took on and beat Jean Marc Mormeck, the divisional number 1, in only his 21st fight, and in the guy's backyard.

Now, after only 24 fights he's a two weight world champion.

What's not to like?

Or would you rather he defended the WBU Cruiserweight title 20 or 30 times against the best that the Municipal Roadsweeper's Union of Tijuana has to offer, with Frank Warren as his promoter, telling everyone he's the dog balls and raking in the PPV mega bucks with highlight reel KO's of Julio NoPunch and Marco Antonio Pensioner.

 

Thats true - what he has done with his career is very good - much better than being a Frank Warren Paper Champion defending against Journeymen on mudane cards.

But it dosent mean everyone is going to like him as a personaility.

 

IIRC, around the time of the Carl Thompson fight, i didnt like him one bit. But he steadily grew on me, and when the got back up off the deck to beat Mormeck, i remember i was actually cheering him on. Then came the build up to the Enzo fight, i didnt know which way it would go, but Haye was so confident going into it, i thought he obviously knows he can beat him. We all know what happened after that.

A mate of mine though used to really like him as well, but as soon as he 'won' the Valuev fight, he instantly disliked him. I tried to argue it saying, whether the decision was right or wrong, im just glad someones breathed abit of life into the heavyweight division, but my mate weren't having it. But saying that, my mate actually ENJOYS the way how the Klitschko's box... i think that says it all.
