Is Haye vs Bellew 2 a must?

A rematch is even more pointless than the first fight...if that's possible.

 

This is never PPV contest and there are plenty of evenly matched fights not PPV such as Crolla v Linares.

The only purpose of these contests is to suck ££££££££££££££££££££££££££s out of the pockets of unsuspecting mugs

 

I don't think a rematch would produce the same numbers as the first, the build up would not be the same with Haye's newly found respect for Bellew. Bellews smartest option is to retire now with the glory. His second best option is to avoid Haye (as he doesn't owe him anything after the things he's said in the build up) and fight the shorter HWs

 

That fight would fill out any arena in the UK and set him up for a huge PPV fight for the World Title.

 

Thats what makes me think there was an injury going in. Very few boxers go in with a game plan like haye did on saturday. No measuring up of bellew. I know he said he,d knock him out easy in the build up. But we,re talking about a top experienced amatuer and professional fighter. Only usually see amatuers do it...and mostly amatuers in the very early part of their careers. Or hobby or whatever.

It was a bit like we,re struggling with injury here. Lets get in and get him bashed up incase it gets any worse.

What i did pick up on in the corner at the sixth round it was mcguigan that told him to stay in the corner. Not to leave it. And fight from there. Haye listened to him...stayed on the ropes then went into the corner straight away. Decent advice from mcguigan tbf. The fight would have been called if he went into the middle not long after, after that 6th round.

 

No doubt Haye was injured pre fight but all he wanted was £££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££s

 

Probably right jurgen. But who wouldnt if you believed you could go in there and knock him out early. Get paid 4 or 5 million. Weather it was haye or any boxer...especially one that punches hard you,d take it. Bearing in mind pulling out probably leaves him out in the cold with pretty much no way back. Plus reports hes skint. Sometimes your kind of forced into taking risks. Tbf to him he went in there and tried everything possible to stay in the fight even when it did snap. If he went in and took a dive fair enough...but he gave it his all in there. Thats if there even was a prior injury in the first place. Personally think there was...but its not a given.

I personally can't see it happening, simply because Haye will be inactive again for a long period of time.

 

I think it's the most logical fight, the injury makes it even more interesting, plus, it is the biggest money fight for both!

Wrong. It isn't even remotely evenly matched. A fit Haye destroys Bellew early. The Haye that fought Bellew last Saturday was carrying a major injury going into the fight that meant he couldn't use his speed or power, and resulted in his timing being totally off.

 

Haye was clearly injured going into the fight.

It's no coincidence that him having an Achilles injury made headlines in the week prior to the fight..... and he then goes an snaps it in the fight itself.

 

Haye showed a lot of dignity and honesty in acknowledging that Bellew took his best shots. He could possibly outscore Bellew in a rematch but we've seen no evidence that Haye can go 12 rounds (he leaned on the ropes for four rounds in his last fight) or even prepare for a fight and go in 100% fit. People need to accept this as does David Haye. A few years ago he would have pulled out of these fights like he did with Fury, twice.

Inactivity, shoulder reconstruction, age and now an Achilles' tendon injury. It's too much.
