Is Haye's trash talking so bad, it's actually good?

Ok so on that basis is Floyd Mayweather a professional success? Or James Toney? Or Mike Tyson?

Or A Rod, or Kobe Bryant....

You have to be a good boy all the time to be deemed a professional success?

So if you swear, you're going to drive people to gun and knife crime? Of course you are.

I'm not saying Haye is a positive role model for everyone, but it does depend on what you define as a role model.

The gun and knife crime in London is nothing to do with people like David Haye. He's an example that there is another way to go. As are many such as Frank Bruno, Nigel Benn, Chris Eubank, Lennox etc. At least they were themselves and didn't say what people 'expected' them to say...ok maybe Frank did. But hopefully you get my point

STEVEN...ROOTS AND REASONS OF GANG CULTURE IN LONDON ARE MANY.
for those young people in hackney or peckham,Haye is a hero.and they might think that arrogant disrespectful behavior is cool..and then kids follow
if he wants to represents successful black minority in london or "another way to go" he should go another way,and not bringing his ghetto behavior into world scene.
you say"The gun and knife crime in London is nothing to do with people like David Haye." YES but he as their hero has a chance and responsibility to show young kids that respecting is COOL not insulting.those kids eyes are on him.

I can see this thread descending into a free for all for those would be sociologists we have on ESB.

My two pence worth, we could post a YouTube vid of every ****ing nation under the sun here, and point out how ****ed up they are. That includes the Eastern Europeans.

For every interview in which Haye rubbishes an opponent, I've seen him perfectly respectful and pleasant in other situations.

To go back to the original point the other guy made, to say you cannot be a professional success if you ever misbehave is complete nonsense

Im gonna be bold...this in reality is a 50-50 match / 55-45 in favour of Wlad.........BUT i honestly think Wlad will take Haye out even though its Wlad best opponent since Byrd or possibly Ibragimov. I also love the fact that guys like Scurla and Gazoc are bang on points.......Haye is making this worse for himself, Wlad is not i repeat not going to come out swinging.....instead we are going to see extra motivational JABS, and CLINCHES Wlad really wants to beat Haye badly.

I was a Haye fan from 2001 when he fought Solis, even when he took out Tony Booth in his debut i was like this ****ing kid took out a seasoned journeyman and made him look ****......i told everyone he was going to be heavyweight champion one day...him and cotto were my standouts.

Anyhow back to the current, Haye has stalled, he lost the momentum from 2008 when I belive he would have smashed Wlad....Klit was going through a real bad batch in this period.

Anyhow if i were haye and his team i would not motivate wlad any further....always best to make your opponent under estimate you.

It's almost as if some people would rather fighters behave like modern day professional footballers do in 99% of MOTD interviews.

    Righteo.

It's to sell the fight, that's all it is with Haye.

Solid points. I was a big fan of Haye since the am's. He was hungry back then and wanted to be great in this sport. But his attitude has got worse and worse as his accomplishments have got greater.
Vlad has one of THE best jabs in the business. Haye is going to feel it. I have a sneaky feeling we're going to see the best Vlad boxing has ever seen. Vlad is extremely focused thanks to Haye's more than brash smack talk. If you ask me it's not even smack talk. Haye talks and he simply doesn't stop to think about the things he says.
He lost me as a fan a long time ago.

Haye's never liked training. Haye likes to look the part and knock people out but as training and roadwork his never had an interest in it.
He made this very clear since his early professional career.
