Haymon over-protects some of his boxers, such as Wilder, so they don't develop as well.

And there have been long periods of inactivity for certain boxers, such as Gary Russell Jr. Inactivity cause boxers to decline before their time.

Haymon is overly reluctant to work with other promoters, he tries to keep everything in-house, even when it's not what's best for his boxers.

If that is truly what they got... then PBC are ****ed big time. They have paid Wilder their biggest current star along with Spence for 3 fights that made major losses and about tp pay him a fourth time.

That's the official story. The unofficial story is Wilder booted DiBella for going over to Fury after their fight and telling him that he totally won
There were two deals. One was a three fight deal. He'd fight Breazeale as a warm up and then two fights with AJ. They say the three fight deal was worth about £100 million which is about $130 million. The other was a four fight deal under the terms you described. If the four fight deal was £120 million and not $120 million then he's made much less money for one additional fight and he got his ass kicked.

You can’t compare Don King to Haymon other than the use of racial solidarity thing which I don’t really care about. King might have been a scumbag but he’s the greatest promoter ever, Haymon doesn’t even speak and it hurts the sport that the guy with the deepest roster is non existent when it comes to promotion. Haymon still hasn’t created a single star, and despite having the deepest roster unlike King in his prime Haymons cards are so ****! Not only that but he flagrantly encourages ducking and cherry picking to a level we’ve never seen before. From a fans point of view, the guy seriously might be the worst thing in the history of the sport. I don’t know how any boxing fan cannot hate him.

Showtime will fold out of boxing and pbc will do a deal with DAZN in 2021 when the current pbc deal expires.

To save the initial investment we have to save the money in a secure place. You can apply for an equity release to save your investment. It will be helpful for you when you became retired.

Totally agree. While @Brighton bomber is correct on the angle he uses to reel in black fighters is similar to King, my parting ways is that as crooked as King was...which BB is right, crooked. But darnit! Con King put on some of the best cards! So many stacked! To which plays to your point as to where the comparison stops.

Agreed King at least gave fight fans the big fights when the money was there. He did block some meaningful fights and unification fights because it didn't make business sense but if the money was big enough he'd make the fights that mattered. I can't ever imagine King turning down $120 mill 3 fight deal to unify the heavyweight division for one of his fighters.

Haymon may have borrowed some of the methods off of King to control fighters but as you say he's failed in the ability to make stars he isn't half the promoter King was.

Great post, I had to mention this bit in particular. Wilder an Broner are the ones that stand out as chatting "slave contracts".They have swallowed it hook line an sinker off him. Two Donkeys

There is one other point of comparison. King told Tyson to go for Holyfield because he was convinced that Holyfield, coming off a lay off and however many fights into his own comeback, was finished and would be easy prey for Tyson. Sound familiar?

I never understood or will understand that thinking of blacks or Latinos alike. It doesn't matter if you are white, black, brown, red or green, if anyone wants to take advantage of you and rip you off they will do it regardless of race. Come on, we see it in families, brothers ripping off brothers, cousins, uncles, parents etc. I don't know why people think someone just because he is my same "race" will treat me better.
