ever notice that most of the controversy occurs on hbo? ever notice that lampley, compubox and lederman never disagree? ever notice that what's happening in the ring isn't always in line with what lampley is calling? hbo has sucked hard for years. merchant and lampley are all that is wrong with boxing. their agenda is so transparent. the only ppl they fool are the fanboys who are usually cheering for the same guys hbo wants to win. i suggested long ago that hbo offer the fights minus the commentary because lampley is soooo horrible.
it also seems like the commentators, especially Lampley, is obsessed with talking about the attendance, ratings or how exciting the fight is. ***** just do the play by play and call the fight. You had a fighter just go into a coma on your network recently. Roy and Max - "This is a pretty good boxing match. Lots of skill on display" Lampley - "Yeah and neither Marquez or Bradley are taking as many risks as they did in their last fight"
well i still watch even tho i cant stand hbo's crew. i like roy and i like when ward is on there. lamps and kellerman i dont really like. kellerman can be alright at sum times. and lamps is always clownin merchant is retired thank goodness i didnt like but i kno others thought he was good at his job specifically on giving interviews.
I will say that HBO commentary can't hurt "viewing pleasure." You don't "view" sounds, so I sort of think this thread is a trick question. You can always mute it and you will be viewing the exact same thing.
Try taking time out to think before speaking.... If what you are viewing and what you are listening to are at variance even when it's supposed to be a direct reflection, does that not limit your viewing experience? Smart arse.
Showtime is the best when it comes to objectivity. Sky is the worst, but they don't pretend to be objective. HBO is shameless when it comes to trying to influence viewers. Rewatch Pac-Bradley.
:yep:yep:rofl :yep yep, couldn't agree more on that statement and definitely the subject/topic of this thread.
