I buy every big fight but will most likely not be buying this one.

I will be watching Campbell - Guzman and Bradley - Cherry.

If you want to put a price tag on the fights, here goes:

    Campbell - Guzman: $30

    Bradley - Cherry: $15

    Casamayor - Marquez: $30

    Mora - Forrest: $15

The PPV is $45 so I guess by my calculation, this is worth the money.

But since Showtime has equal fights, I'll keep my money.

JMM is probably getting PPV after his fights with Manny to see if he will draw viewers in himself. Also since Casamayor's last fight was exciting I guess they are hoping people who saw that and Pac v Marquez 2 will consider it worth buying.

HBO didn't make it a PPV, Golden Boy did. HBO is just getting paid to distribute the fight.

JMM is worth $45 alone? No matter what?

PPV is ALWAYS HBO's call. Of course there's the pressure from promoters like Golden Boy and Top Rank to get the PPV dates, but HBO has the final word on PPV... Of course if Top Rank and Golden Boy can offer good products (for Time Warner everything is a product), HBO will put them on PPV. Products here can be names, certain fights or something that catches the public's imagination (like the Mayweather family). JMM on Mexican Indipendence Day catches the public's imagination therefore it's PPV. Of course Richard Schaefer is all about signing the right fighters - the right fighters from HBO's standpoint. But HBO has the final word and it seems GBP can offer more 'products' than any other promoter.
