Is Juan Manuel Lopez overated? I dont believe he is but he has to step up his game a bit, discuss

  2. Yes he's terrible and will be brutally KOed by any top tier opponents Bob Arum ever allows him to fight.

That really depends on how good Ponce de Leon is since that is really the victory that made him. He needs gamboa to really test his mettle.

He's fine. The man has potential but he has to prove it first. Nobody is overrating him yet.

At this point I'd have to say he's slightly overrated.

The Concepcion fight will answer some questions that have sprouted after the Mtagwa debacle.

Rated about right. Very good fighter, shouldve fought Caballero but Arum isnt going to let anything get in the way of building up Lopez-Gamboa. With that being said, he isnt fighting scrubs either.

Pretty good fighter, maybe slightly overrated by some. He's been protected more than I would like him to be, but Arum is keeping him and Gamboa safe so he can make a lot of money off a battle of the undefeated.

This is exactly what is happening. I remember reading (cant recall which newspaper) that he wanted to wipe out all the featherweights so that the only two guys standing were Gamboa and Lopez.

Arum wants Gamboa to wipe out all of Lopez's threats in the division first before putting them up against each other.

    Pretty sad :verysad

Just out of curiosity who has Gamboa fought so far that could be a threat to JML?

There definetely should of been a Mtwaga rematch after the first fight with JML instead of a Gamboa/Mtagwa fight, also Arum wanted Gamboa/Cab to happen but Gamboa's people low-balled Cab.

While its true that Mtgawa almost beat JML its also true that JML won the fight and Gamboa beat him in explosive fashion. But I hardly see that as Gambao eliminating a threat for JML at FW. I believe this race has just started. JML beat Luevano, Gamboa beat Mtgawa, Lopez will fight Concepcion (with R Marquez possibly as his next opponent) and Gamboa will fight Salido.

When topics are brought if a fighter is overrated, then they are doing something good. When they want you to fight everyone, then they are doing something good. The kid is rated where he should be rated, as of now hes fought decent and good opponents than others would be giving credit for. He's good point blank.
