    Seriously? What do you think?

I never thought I'd ever say that a man was too slick for Roy Jones, but that's exactly what Calzaghe was tonight, he was too fast and too slick for Roy Jones Junior, even though Calzaghe is shot to pieces! Just imagine what he would have done to Jones in his prime!!!!

Calzaghe's best wins were in the past 3 years, how was he shot to pieces but a man who hadn't beaten a world class fighter in 5 years wasn't?

and BTW, he never was a middleweight.

you think joe is shot to peices? I think that in the early rounds he showed good power. he was sitting on his shots well and really bothering roy to the body alot. It was later during the joe show that he started slapping.

Just what I been saying, Jones would be faster than he was tonight in his prime, and this shot calzaghe would still have taken a prime Jones.., Prime Jones against a prime Joe, same result as tonight.

When I say middleweight I don't mean strictly 160lbs, idiot.

Anyway, I've watched Calzaghe's entire career, the last great performance he had was against Lacy, it all went down hill from there onwards. He's lost a lot of his hand speed, he's certainly lost his KO power and his punch volume has declined also. After Lacy he took the easy path and went over to America when he should have stayed and fought on the far tougher European circuit.

some of you guys are jokes. mentioning calzaghe being old, but failing to mention hes still a top class p4p type fighter. jones is ****ing shot to pieces. prime for prime, jones beats him no question about it. and this fight was at 175 you jackass - and glen johnson beat a fresher roy even worse. so **** off.

160lbs is the Middleweight limit idiot. You know what limit means? It means everything above is not included. It's logic, use it.

The term 'middleweight' often encompassed everything from 154-175 you ****ing newbie.

I am WELL aware that JC has never fought at the 160lbs limit, that doesn't mean he's not a part of the greater middleweight picture. Learn about boxing before you speak to me you petulant child.

    Arrrgh!!! Absolutely not!!!

Greatest Middleweight goes to Sugar Ray Robinson, everyone knows that! Not just because everyone says so, but because he wrote the book on modern boxing... He also beat the crap out of pretty much everyone and fearlessly leap-frogged divisions when you had to do more than benchpress an extra 5kg plate and eat a bowl of pasta in order to do so...
Greatest Super Middleweight... RJJ! Put the RJJ that boxed circles around James Toney in there with the Calzaghe that destroyed... Lacy? Jones Jr lopsided decision (Seeing as Calzaghe has never been KO'ed I'm not gonne be too liberal with the KO call)...
Greatest light Heavyweight? That's difficult and a guy is always gonna lean towards the dude he watched in real time, I'd love to say it's RJJ, not only for his dominance there, but his Heavyweight heroics too... But when the old farts say Archie Moore it's indeed hard to argue with his record (which varies depending on the source) of 183(131)/25/11....

I agree that Calzghe rates highly in SMW history, but since it's such a transient division it's hard to say exactly where he fits...
Definitely not middleweight though seeing as he never fought there pro!
Plus I think it'shard to measure a fighters greatness if they never bust their "undefeated" cherry... It just means they haven't tried hard enough! :deal

Try and think with a rational mind for once. Under the 175lbs limit, above the160lbs limit, hmm... is that a Lightheavyweight or a Middleweight? I know it may be difficult for you to quickly find the right answer, but seriously, it's logic. Go by the original 8 weightclasses moron, Calzaghe has been a Ligthheavyweight his whole career, and never a Middleweight.

You don't know half the **** I know about boxing, if you did you wouldn't be calling Calzaghe the greatest Middleweight in history. "Uhh... Harry Greb and Carlos Monzon? No, Joe Calzaghe who never fought at 160 is the greatest!" Damn man.

So by going on your defintion of a middleweight (154-175), you think he makes a strong case to be at the top? Over guys like Robinson, Hearns, Hagler, Spinks, Monzon , Jones etc ?

You're a ******. Boxers can be broadly speaking placed into 4 general categories:

    - Micros
    - Lights
    - Middles
    - Heavies

Try and guess which one of those categories the Super middleweight Joe Calzaghe fought in, the clue is in the title.

    Dumbass.
