I think Hearns reaction after the fight jumping around the ring like a twat says it all,he was relieved one of his major cash cows survived what looked to be a one sided drubbing by the skin of his sack.

Hearn will be matching Burns very carefully from now on you can count on it.

John Murry,Gavin Rees and maybe a Kevin Mitchell rematch.

Vasquez,Abril or a Gonzalez rematch are highly doubtful.

Burns has faced good opposition at Lightweight, I doubt Eddie will feed him nobodies.

Like previously mentioned, Demarco should be in September.

Why would he rematch Gonzalez? The guy quit, he doesn't deserve it. Abril is a horrible match up for anybody at the weight, he's even more awkward then Gonzalez. I'd steer Ricky clear of him.

Demarco is nothing more then a punching bag against world class fighters, but Ricky doesn't have the power to dent him so it'll be competitive, but Ricky should win on points.

    Demarco.

A punching bag for world class fighters?

That's exactly what Ricky Burns would be if he had of fought Edwin Valero or Adrien Broner.

Ricky was a punching bag for Jose Gonzalez and I wouldn't exactly call him world class would you?

Ricky was far from a punching bag against Gonzalez and I never said Ricky was world class, did I?

Burns actually has a solid defense, so I'd give him a chance of going the distance with both Broner and Valero.

    Demarco blocks with his face.

No but your making Demarco out to be a mug when in actuality he's a very very good fighter. You say he blocks punches with his face if that's the case Ricky blocks punches with his body because that high guard was his worst enemy against Gonzalez who was hitting him to the body at will.Listen styles make fights and I don't think Ricky Burns has the kind of power to stop a pressure fighter like Demarco.Judging Demarco on his losses to Valero and Broner who are both lightening fast punchers and probably punch twice as hard as Burns is a joke.

I can judge him however I want, he just literally stood there with his arms down, no head movement just taking huge punches against Broner. So like I said, he's a punching bag against top level fighters.

When did I say Demarco is ****? He's just awful defensively, like I also already stated B urns doesn't have the power to dent him so it will be competitive.

So why are you making things up?

In not making anything up you said Demarco is a punching bag for world class fighters, like I said Burns would suffer the exact same fate if he had fought Valero or Broner and based on his performance the other night he wouldn't see the second half of the fight against either.

Demarco ain't no punching bag Broner and Valero just made him look like one because they're that dam good.

    Stop talking rubbish

I think he'll get Rees and Murray next. By that point Broner will be out of the division so rule out a Broner fight. Nobody wants Abril, and he might be forced into a Gonzalez fight at some point for lack of options. If that comes off then Burns might fight the winner. Demarco is likely to happen but not before Rees and Murray.

Basically things will follow this pattern: Hearn now knows that Burns' days are numbered. So he'll be cashing in on him with domestic fights that he can win and make a lot of money in first (Rees, Murray, Mitchell), then pick a good style matchup with a name (Demarco) for good money, then cash him in with a unification vs Vasquez or Abril.

I expect Rees, Murray, Mitchell, Demarco, then a unification fight. I won't complain either, because those are all good fights.

Linares made him look like one for 10 rounds and he's nothing to write home about.

What is all this talk of John Murray??!!!

He got a hiding of Rios and KO'd by a bloke Ricky knocked out in 4 in his last two fights.

    Behave.

Rees is a backwards step too.

Demarco would do but unification is what should happen. He needs to prove himself at world level. (Which despite the belt he has not done)
