I was wondering why Ricky Burns is fighting another southpaw in his next fight, that will be three in his last four fights? I remember reading Billy Nelson saying southpaws were Ricky's weakness so why would Hearns keep putting them in front of him, looks as though Hearn really don't give a **** about Burns or Scottish boxing? Thoughts!
At the end of the day all Eddie will care about is Ricky making him money! Imo it's just the way it has panned out in regards to opponents. As for him not giving a **** about Scottish boxing, Eddie will always be interested until he can't make money from the shows, if he can find someone else marketable like Ricky is he will continue to run shows in Scotland imo.
Eddie knows boxing is a business. He's making good money from Scotland, giving some Scottish fighters exposure all the while giving Ricky GUARENTEED paydays aswell as some of biggest of his career, I genuinely don't see what's wrong here. Both guys making money and Scottish boxing getting exposure.
Maybe because thats what he needs to improve on if he wants to get back into the mix at World Level? Just a thought?
Hearn isn't using Burns...... Burns is the biggest money spinner in the Scottish market, Hearn's not daft
What part is utter rubbish? The part where I say Eddie only cares about Ricky making him money or about the opponents? Eddie is a promoter and as a promoter he is interested in making money! All promoters worry about the cash and know there will always be other boxers coming along to fill the void left by Ricky etc Maybe it was Eddie's plan to have Ricky boxing all of the southpaws but I'm sure if Billy had made Eddie aware as the first post mentioned then it was crazy promoting by Eddie not taking that information on board if he was choosing the fights! That's why I said it might have just been the way it panned out.
Burns is doing well getting paid big bucks and putting on crap performances for the paying punter. If the punter keeps paying for such drivel Hearn/Burns will be happy to keep supplying it. Simmonds sells a lot of the tickets and Burns makes a mint of them. If fans never went in big numbers for one fight it would give Ricky a kick up the arse to produce better
He has been fight at world level againts class operators in Crawford and Beltran, he isnt Rocky Fielding going life and death with Adamu or Degale putting people to sleep like he did againts Dylah Davies.
Wow you either can't read or you're the biggest moron I've ever come across. Did you even bother to read the second sentence where he stated "Imo it's just the way it has panned out in regards to opponents."?
Are you serious? He makes no reference to the fact they are mandatories and clearly insinuates that they were money fights that also happened by coincidence to involve southpaws. Learn to read.
No but that is why I said that it has maybe just how the opponents have panned out !! That wasn't blaming Eddie was it? The first part of the sentence was referring to Eddie using Ricky so I stated that Eddie at the end of the day will be interested in money he can make from Ricky. The part after the exclamation mark was in response to the amount of southpaws Ricky had fought in a short space of time and gave my opinion that it was maybe just how things had worked out!! I didn't realise it would be that hard to understand but I will try make clearer for you in the future. I know you post quite a bit about Eddie and Matchroom and always seem to jump in at their defence but I have no hidden agenda with anyone and only like to give my opinion as a boxing fan and as someone involved in the sport. i leave the Boxnation vs Matchroom vs Channel 5 debates to others.
