So than you agreeing with him that their on the same level, only difference is Cotto is more resilent and durable. Why don't you vote if you feel that way?

Of course not. They do have a similar style though. Styles make fights. A guy might be less talented than another guy but still beat him due to the style matchup. Floyd beating up Bruseles doesn't mean that he beats Cotto, but it does suggest that he has the skillet to offset what Cotto is going to bing to the table.

Actually they were on the same level at one point. People don't remember that Bruseles was a beast back in 03-04. Brusles & Cotto trained together with a very similar style. They were true equals in sparing. The Mayweather fight ruined Henry. He was beaten badly. Top Rank, who initially wanted to match up the more marketable Cotto against Mayweather did not want that fight for Cotto anymore. Mayweather basically ruined his clone & the same fate would have happened to Cotto back than

Ok. But were talking now. Let me ask you this since your actually agreeing with him. Do you think Bruseles could of beatin Carlos Quintana, Antonio Margarito, Shane Mosley, Zab Judah, Paulie Malignaggi, Kelson Pinto, Muhammad Abdullaev, Joshua Clottey, Ricardo Torres, and Yuri Foreman? Tell me which fighters you think he would beat and would not beat, because WHO YOU BEAT says a lot more than how you look in sparring or how similiar your style is to another fighter because if you wanna use that logic than Tyrell Biggs, James Quick Tillis, and Elijah Tillery you could say is as good as Muhammad Ali because there style was just like his.

Obviously not now, because Bruseles is ruined. Compare Bruseles before and after the Mayweather fight. Let's act as if the Mayweather beating never happened. Could Bruseles go on to beat those names you mentioned? Prolly not because Cotto had the more potential. Doesn't take away the fact they were on the same level back in 03-04. It's like drafting 2 college basketball players that are on the same level, but the scouts go to the one who has more upside.

Bob Arum & Mayweather weren't getting along back in those days. Bob was grooming Cotto to be his cash cow. He was grooming him to be the first guy to take Mayweather's 0. He was planning a huge LW 140lb in house top rank fight. He used the Bruseles fight as an indicator. Mayweather beat the **** outta dude. Arum went with plan B. Let's make Mayweather face Margarito. Top Rank knew that Cotto wouldnt have a chance

Well if you were a promotor you wouldn't put a green inexperience fighter with a lot of potential in the ring with a very experienced world champion fighter like Mayweather. I know wouldn't. Cotto had to develop first and he did. The timing for the fight now is perfect because he has tons of experience under his belt as does Mayweather.

As an amateur bruseles was better honestly i thought he would have a better career than he did. But when you dont have the backing of a promotion company is a lot harder to make it in this sport.

Cotto was around 25 at the time, had over 20 fights, and was a world champion. I wouldn't exactly call that green and inexperienced.
