I'm looking at his fights and some highlights, he's a good fighter. What is the separation between him and Shakur other than youth? I want to put money on him but I want others posters output?
I think he has a great shot to win. I'd be pretty wary about betting against Shakur though, simply due to the cards going his way in a close fight.
The difference? Speed and footwork. Is Shakur a great A level prospect? Probably not. He has flaws. But he has clearly the faster feet and hands and i expect Shakur to win rounds based on that alone. Can Herring pull off the upset? Yeah, he can. But i think Shakur takes an UD 116-112/117-111. Additionally Herring is probably not as good as people think he is. He improved a lot since changing his coach and his jab is very good but he's still not great. Very basic style and slow feet. Herring by DEC is +1400 which is a much better price than his ML. So i'd rather take that. I don't see him stopping Shakur. And that comes from a guy who bet the **** out of Herring in the Frampton fight...but that was a different story.
This fight is set up to crown Stevenson, Herring is a solid guy nothing special he has always been regarded as a weaker champion. Stevenson is highly skilled, Herring's physical attributes should make it interesting Stevenson will need a couple rounds to figure him out before winning a reasonably comfortable decision.
There's plenty of fans who simply don't want Shakur to win. Everything you said is true. I've never expected to Herring to have a long reign. I'm a fan of both though.
Yep I want Herring to win as Stevenson is just another punk who thinks he is better than what he is typical of this younger generation of fighters who get hype early in their careers and think they are the second coming of Floyd Mayweather. Obviously Stevenson is good but the egos on these kids is very off putting. The likes of past greats like Floyd and Roy Jones earned the right to have some arrogance.
Yep, I know what you mean. He's been matched pretty light. I'm able to separate Shakur's talent from his attitude, surprisingly LOL This is why I appreciate your objectiveness. It's easy for us to tear down a fighter's talent when we dislike them.
Herring is decent enough, but I'd advise you to not bet on him. Even if he were to merit a decision in his favor, he's unlikely to get it, though I do expect Shakur to win legitimately/clearly. Feel free to disregard if you believe you see something, but don't take Herring just because the odds are tempting, unless you bet for kicks (i.e. enjoy losing money).
