What do most of you guys on this website think about Holyfield and accusations against him and his headbutts? It seems that a lot of fighters such as Foreman, Lewis, and Tyson all complained about his headbutting. Let's not forget the Hasim Rahman fight. Do you guys think the headbutts were intentional or accidental on the part of Holyfield?

I think some were intentional and some were accidental. Even if he headbutted intentionally that still doesn't take away the fact that he's great but it makes him a dirty fighter.

I don't think Ezzard Charles or Arguello fouled on purpose they were as clean as it gets. If you were joking then my bad lol.

Well,Foreman and Tyson were in no position to argue about dirty tactics.I was watching the Holyfield-Foreman fight yesterday, and Foreman was tagging Holyfield's balls with uppercuts more often that he was connecting with his head.

Tyson was always a very dirty fighter himself too.Francois Botha wasn't the first guy to get his arms locked up and twisted. And Tyson always loved to use those elbows of his.Bullies don't like to get slapped back.

I've always found it interesting how so many wish to pick out Evander Holyfield as a scapegoat for cheating. These same people are the one's who glorifiy Roberto Duran's cheating, such as poking other fighters in the eye, hitting them in the alls to win fights, ect.Perhaps Holyfield should have conducted himself like a neanderthal to earn more respect.

I would rather get hit in the balls than headbutted. At least you have five minutes to recover, and you dont become disoriented like you do from butting. Since the Rahman fight, weve seen little complaints of Holyfield headbutting.

I think for a while he was using his head on purpose for sure but not as much anymore.

I watched Byrd-Holyfield recently and Holyfield got stuck in with his head once or twice. Like someone said, most fighters are guilty of bending the rules a bit, but I think EH's headbutts are a bit too far

Holyfield put his out there on purpose, most of the headbutts weren´t really headbutts but just clashes of heads provoked by Holyfield. Kind of disguised headbutts. He was very good at it. I don´t fault him much for that. At least not as much as I do for his doping.

    Oscar ?

    Mayweather ?

    Hearns ?

    Leonard ?

    Frazier ?

    Lewis ?

    And quite a few more.

    Rarely if ever fought dirty.

    Good point.

    But it raises a question.

Did he have any significant wins since Rahman ?

No.... but he's 48 years old.

I don't think his lack of butting is what's really holding him back now,do you?

its just the damn refs who pretend not to see it

even though he has a huge history of it

but yeah ofcourse its always an accident or the ref doesnt see it

    this has always sounded fishy
