Is Holyfield the only active fighter that's gone 15 rounds?

Was just thinking about this, is there another active fighter out there has fought in a 15-rounder or is he it?

I think I heard Larry Merchant say around the time of the Chris Byrd fight, that Holyfield was " one of the last fighters still active, who fought in a 15 rounder." This was about 7 years ago, therefore I'm guessing yes. I don't think that there are any others who still remain.

I was thinking about that just this morning. Holyfield's longevity is second to very few... just amazing.

He has been a professional since 1985, with very few long periods of retirement or inactivity. Sometimes, I wonder if he shouldn't have more fights given the length of his career.

And to think in the midst of his entire career, from being a 21 year old cruiserweight to a 46 year old HW, for every fight he's participated in, he's shown up in-shape. Can't say the same for many other boxers

Buck Smith is still active and went 15 rounds with Harold Brazier in 1990.

He really defines the word professional. Always comes in great shape, always comes with a gameplan.... hell, even at age 46, he had a fine strategy against the 7 foot, 320 pound Russian and executed it to perfection, despite his age. This is one of the reasons i think he deserves a top10 ranking.

He should be a titlist and five time champion at 46 Year old. It's amazing how long he's been fighting and can still compete with some of the best out there.

Smith hasn't fought since early 2009, but that is perhaps the next best catch other than Holyfield.

This thread was constructed in August of 2009, shortly after Buck Smith had his last bout, and that was when he suggested him.. So Smith very well have been reported as active at THAT time. As for updating things for today's purposes, I think we'd be pretty hard pressed to find anyone else who has gone 15 and is still registered as active.
