Is Hopkins a disgrace to boxing?

I love how boxing fans love to assume truths based on their like or dislike of a fighter's style and throw the rules out the window.

A disgrace to boxing?

No.

He's achieved many things and he's a great fighter. That said, his antics in the latter part of his career definitely do not make boxing look good. I don't need to repeat his acting jobs, you all know what he's done time and time again.

But no, he's not a disgrace. If he does it again, though, I may have to change my mind on this one.

 

And Hopkins was the ****er who jumped on the guy's back yesterday, before he got thrown off. Not to mention that he is the one coming in with his head all the time trying to use it as a third fist. You can look at it both ways.

Hopkins is not a disgrace to boxing at all. He is a great champion. The one thing which most great fighters have he has also, and it is more prevalent with fighters fighting today rather than years ago. They think they are bigger than boxing.

 

Clearly Dawson grabs Hopkins legs as he pushes him back, making the fall worse on the hard section of the ring, a no contest should have been the ruling. Dawson looked better but how the fight would go in another five rounds no one knows. Wrong decision.
