Is Hopkins ever going to fight Dawson, the legit LHW.

Hopkins holds every right to retire or fight a nostalgia fight with Jones. But If he decides that he wants to be king of the Light Heavy weight division, then he should take on Dawson.

 

Why should Hopkins take on a fight with Dawson, when he wants to avenge his losses. Calzaghe is the guy who should want Dawson.

 

Come on, don't disturb Dawson until he finishes his trilogy with Antonio Tarver. The man has never Diacked anybody and he has the Johnson to give Antonio Tarver the rematch he deserves.

I say Hopkins will wait until Dawson gets old, and beat a shot version of the once (never been) true LHW champion.

Why would the 37 yr old P4P No.3 be inclined to fight a 26 yr old fighter who cant sell 400 tickets in his homeland when he is fighting a huge American name who has just starred in the bigeest Boxing franchise known to man.

People expect this fight as a given, and are prepared to call the 3rd best on the planet a coward, for a fight, that if it was anybody else, wouldnt even be on the same planet, let alone horizon.

If Calzaghe actually fights Chad instead of retireing I hope folk actually put it into perspective, whatever the result. But I doubt it.



There isnt a fighter of any class who would do what is wanted of Calzaghe, yet if he actually refuses the challenge there are ****wits ready to label him a coward.

Exactly the kind of answer i was expecting. Dawson is too big, too strong, too fast and too busy for Hopkins. He poses an even more difficult match up for Bernard than Taylor or Calzaghe because he can not only out busy Hopkins, but he is fast as well and can add the power with it. Ive never seen Hopkins in with this kind of consistent body puncher who is this talented.

Oh and Dawson would stop Taylor. That would be a technical mismatch.
