I do not believe this is true. Calzaghe fans are underrating Hopkins at this point; Hopkins fans are fair and balanced. :smoke
I think that he has redeemed himself late in his career but he gets way too much credit for his 20 title defenses. Hell if Tito had stayed at Welter he probably would have easily mounted 20+ If Floyd had stayed at lightweight he could have done the same. Bernard stayed in a weak division for a very long time instead of moving up to seek bigger challenges.
Nahhh, Tito was starving himself to make welter and everyone knows DLH was robbed against him. Trinidad would never have beaten Mosley or Forrest. While the division was not especially strong, I'm not sure if it's fair to consider it weak, either.
I'm not a big Hopkins fan, but what he has achieved in his career is impressive. I do believe, however, that like most fighters, great fighters even, about 98% of them, he'll hang around too long, like hung around too long at Middleweight, and end up losing, this next time, more decisively and conclusively than he lost twice to Jermain Taylor. Like most fighters, he dosen't know when to gracefully exit the scene.
Yes, pretty overrated. His resume has names, but mostly they are welterweights, he lost twice to the fraud Jermain taylor, and beat an overrated and underprepared Tarver for his best win. And he scraped past Winky, a much smaller guy. Great fighter, dont get me wrong, but some on here who think he kills Calzaghe are just plain delusional, and those who reckon he is top 2/3 MW of all time are likewise.
