Collective record of Hughie's opposition through four fights plus the next two, which are scheduled:

    33-103-7

Collective record of Deontay Wilder's opposition through six fights:

    14-25-1

Wilder's early opposition looks like Murder's Row compared to Hughie's.

Will Hughie be the youngest HW champ ever? Not with Wlad still running things.

I wish him luck, but Fury has shown nothing to suggest he's a future heavyweight great. The only thing he has at the moment is a lot of unearned family hype. If he is the future its going to be hard to imagine the division could sink and lower than what its at. At least today we have Wlad.

I dont think its possible to match Tysons record no matter how good he is.Its simple logistics,Tyson fought 2 or 3 times a month to get the title in record time which is amazing because its very difficult to match heavyweights. There's far fewer active heavyweights compared to other weight classes and the good ones are avoided look at Mike Perez and Pulev. If Hughie continues knocking guys out then it will be harder to get him fights and thats when the inactivity will set in.

At the moment the activity is a bit pointless, get him in the gym and sparring as these blow outs are completely meaningless. In fact I dare say he develops more in the gym for 30 minutes than he does wiping out this cannon fodder.

Hes alright (I hate the way that sounds/comes off, a fan calling a pro fighter 'alright', but you know what I mean, relative to the division)

I think hes good enough to pick up a title somewhere down the line, I wouldn't go far as to say I think he will be the next dominant heavy.

I had read about how good he was n whatnot before ever seeing him fight. Watched his fights a few weeks ago and was surprised this is who everyone was talking about. Again hes decent, hes good, and at 18 he has a huge upside, for sure, but I will hold off just yet on calling him the future of the division.

One thing I will say is, its exciting to see what he could become, at least.

    Lewis in his third fight.

    Wlad in his second fight.

    Hughie in his fourth fight.

What exactly does Fury show that makes you believe he can be a champion? He's not as polished, as fast, nor does he hit as hard as either Wlad or Lewis. Maybe he'll become something. But going on what he's done so far he is anything but special at this point.

Wlad was 2 years older at that point, and Lennox was 6 years older

I think on top of his amateur pedigree and famous family, the fact that he's still not physically mature sparks everyones intrigue. the kid's only 18

I have no problem with that. I hope he turns into the next great thing. But the poster I responded to made the statement he knew Wlad and Lewis would be great and now he know Hughie will be too. He may be some day, but as of now can anyone honestly say he's shown the skill level or explosiveness to make this judgment?

yeah, and for the record Fury looked better in his 2nd fight than Wlad did in his 2nd pro fight

Better jab, slicker defense, good variety of punches. go to 2:18 of the video, look how he fakes a hook, and then drops him with an uppercut under the guard

your comparing Hughie to Wlad and Lewis who are imo amongst the top 5 heavies of all time.If he's half as good as them 2 then he will be a hell of a fighter.

Lets be fair here. Wlad fought a guy with forty fights and who had been in the ring with plenty of talented fighter....and he still looked better. Hughie fought a guy with one fight

No, I'm not comparing them, someone else was. I'm saying its a ridiculous comparison when you really look at it. The kid has 5 fights under his belt. Only a total moron would try to elevate him past anything more than what he is...a novice pro with a lot of undue hype at the moment.
