is humberto soto hof material? 3 time champ in 3 classes

No ****ing Way.

 

Its funny because Soto is a frontrunner like Judah but loses consistency as the fight goes on not for the same reasons as Zab but he fades a bit. Theyre in the same boat as far as HOF is concerned, wont make it.

 

I think Humberto can go up 1-2 divisions up without any problems, he has power in that left.
He is a dangerous fighter.I wonder why he didnt open up against the smaller Diaz? I thought he could take him out anytime.

 

No. Good, tough, veteran fighter, but not hof. Nice accomplishments, but I would of loved for him to go to 126 if possible. He didn't bring his power to 135 I think he should stay at 130. He is a very good puncher and technician, but not great. Has some fight in him still time will tell.

 

Actually he was having problems with the strength of Diaz. I think he should go back down

 

The Guzman loss killed his career. Had he won that fight he would've been where he is now back then. I love the guy though, and he'll give Peterson hell.

 

Humberto Soto can hold his head up high for what he has achieved over the last 5 years. He wasn't really expected to make it this far, but he's now established himself as a two-weight world champion. I thought if anything that he showed he's only getting better still after his smooth performance over former champion David Diaz. I'm intrigued with how well he's going to operate against the other world class Lightweights. Exciting times.

If Humberto Soto wants to be consiered for the Hall Of Fame, he should look to establish himself as the best Lightweight in the world by cleaning it out. That's a very tough ask indeed, but the Hall Of Fame isn't just for anyone who picks up a belt or two...especially not in today's climate.

I don't think he should go down at all. He practically won every round on my card, and he was hurting Diaz with the flush shots that got through. He should look to clean up at Lightweight which is a tough division, only then will he have achieved something that can warrant a HOF consideration. Tough, tough ask but fighters are here to challenge themselves...well, in most cases.

 

The guy is young and has alot of time in his career. He has done alot s ofar and only continues to improve. He can do it with a couple of good wins. Lightweight has some good fighters if he can clean out 135 and then move up and win a belt at 140 he may get in. He has the defense power chin and determination. I'd love a Valero fight maybe two of the most unheralded guys out there. Soto has been on the map since 04 or 05 but when did he actually get his recognition. Either his promoter sucks or he just doesnt get his due

 

29 isn't that young but he's been a late bloomer so I think he has a good 3-4 years left in him, depending on who he fights and how successful he is.

The HOF is supposed to be for the very best - the elite. Being a "good fighter" isn't enough, not by a long way.

 

Guy is a great under acheiver and had close to fifty fights before the age of 25 has benn ****ed over many times he beat Juarez in 05 in an eliminator and never got a title shot until he moved up in weight and got beat by a track running Guzman and then got screwed again when Cortes DQ'd him then he beat that guy moved up and beat Diaz. The resilience and bouncing back is great. He deserves more credit than he gets. He can be HOF if he can clean 135 out and take a title at 140

 

hes a good boxer, fast, but he have to fight an elite first.

 

If he cleans up at 135lbs, Soto deserves consideration if McGuigan is in there.
