No, their all paper titles. Either interim or vacant. He has never beaten the top guys in the division, heck Im not even sure if he has beaten the top 3 in any of those divisions.

I remember when everyone was saying that he was a younger version of Erik Morales..

 

The HOF really ****ed themselves by voting McGuigan in. His popularity and what he did in Ireland is what (wrongly) got him in, rather than his ability.

Now, whenever anyone borderline is on the shortlist people say "Well, if McGuigan is in why shouldn't he be?". I don't think you should hold McGuigan up as the standard for HOF entry - because then instead of letting one guy in by mistake, you end up letting a whole slew of guys in who just don't belong there.

Soto would have to go one one incredible ****in run at Lightweight to convince me he should be in Canasota because, right now, he ain't even close.

 

Not yet but maybe if there was some way that he could get in the ring with Gamboa and Caballero in the next couple of years and be victorious, he'd have a much better argument as a HOFer...

 

But he is 135 they are 122 and 126 and Gamboa has done nothing so far. Soto needs to beat Juan Diaz Nate Campbell Valero Casamayor Marquez Khan Paulie any of those guys or three of em and he has a case

 

Yeah but Gamboa will do a LOT... my point ,though, was just to emphasize that he needs some more quality wins against quality competition before being seriously considered...
