Seems like Ike should've been released already. He sounded allright mentally in that interview and apparently was cleared by psychologists. A lot of guys have done less time for worse crimes (putting aside the issue of Ike permanently injuring that kid in an apparent suicide attempt-- as I'm sure the family would rather be compensated by a released Ike than having him further punished). If he'd have gotten out this past December he'd have been what 34 or so? It sounds as if he had gotten back into shape and at that age, making some noise would definitely not be out of the question. Edit: just checked again and the crime was **** as i was thinking it was just an assault, so who knows he's probably got more time he should serve.
According to the Nevada Department of Corrections website, Ike has served his time on what Tim Graham reported as the "Treasure Island" conviction. Ike is still serving out the "Mirage" conviction. It notes that he had a parole hearing in August of 2007, but it does not say what the finding was. I was think that it is safe to assume they denied him again since it has been 5 months since that hearing. If I am reading things correctly, it looks like his mandatory parole release date is August 29th, 2012. He'll be 38. FYI. he is curently listed as weighing 280lbs, 20 stones for our friends overseas.
His weight is no worse than Tysons now, Ike is genetically gifted and can probably get down to the proper weight in 3 or 4 months. His last much was in 99 I believe, so he hasnt been in the ring for almost 9 years, it would be extremely hard for him to come to the ring and be competitive IMO.
Tua vs Ike what a memorable fight I recomend it to every fan, two hard man blowing their brains for 12 rounds I doubt any present heavy could take that pounding. Give a man a second chance.
Just check his website, he and his mother are rather delusional and keep insisting all that has happened to them is the work of greedy promoters. They keep denying everything and so on. Even if their story is true, it won't help them to insist on this now that he already has a chance to leave on Parole terms. Just let it go for good, he's served most of his time anyway, guilty or not. I also find it hard to believe that somebody would better spend years in prison rather than lose a few of his millions to a greedy promoter.
I doubt he was a U.S citizen when he was charged. Theyll probably deport him back to Nigeria after his released.
Once that's dealt with, he has to serve out his "40,000 Leagues Under The Sea" and "Gulliver" convictions.
he was probablt denied parole after informing he parole board that they must call him "el presidente" and then telling them "dont make him angry you wouldnt like him when he is angry"
