I love that move, one of my fave on inside. You fighting Pro? Am?. Got a good boxing brain that's for sure. Many square up on inside and throw hooks with head down.

TBH I'm not really fighting at the mo. I boxed amateur in my youth, won a few, lost a few. I was never fit enough. Always enjoyed drinking and smoking too much.

Was supposed to fight white collar earlier this year but got injured after getting myself fitter than I ever had before. Was sparring 6x3 minute rounds with an amateur who had 20 something fights and outboxing him. he rounds were sparred at a fast fast pace too so the 3x2 minutes white collar would have been easy.

the gym I trained at had a few ex pros and current pros train there and I sparred most of them, some quite a bit. Was only really one guy I didnt like sparring there.

my plan is start training hard again in the new year and have a few fights and 'fufill' my potential. I always thought i was a much better fighter than I was given credit for due to not being fit enough. so plan get fit and down to a decent fighting weight. when I fought amateur i normally weighed 76-80 kilos. at the time I should have been about 72.

now im about 83 and would like to get down to 76 or so and fight people roughly my soze which wasnt always the case when fighting amateur.

Defo. Read the book "The arc of Boxing, the rise and fall of the sweet science". Very one sided but knowledgable and thought provoking.
On a positive, I've seen 5 of David Price's last fights and he has great potential, particularly on the inside, despite being 6"8. Seriously, watch his most recent KO of Sexton. The way he adjusted his arm whilst backing away from the clinch shows real potential to be able to shorten punches in a clinch but still retain power and accuracy, the hallmark of a good in- fighter if harnessed correctly by his coaches.

Agree about The Arc Of Boxing. Some ludicrous statements and way too biased for the old timers but also uses fact and analysis to back up some of it's core ideas. Brilliant book.

thought prices inside work was spot on for a lad of 6,8 like you say.

a big man, slipping punches off the smaller man and working the body is good inside work, people say he is chinny this and chinny that, but working at short range like he did,and has done in most his fights,is not the way a chinny man fights,he is in range to get a good smack on the chin, thats why khan keeps it at long range,he is frightened of being hit cleanly, ala maidana,he dropped him with a body shot, then never hit him again to the body in 11 rounds, thats the sign of a chinny man.

either that or he don't give a **** about being dropped :D
