Is it a big deal to you if Pac-Cotto is a non-title fight?

thats a huge accomplishment for manny and for all the real pacquiao fans, it is a big deal. i know ive stated otherwise before but IMO the actual challenge and magnitude of the fight = titles.

:-| but **** it, cottos head on a stick will do.

U shouldnt put too much emphasis on the belts, fights mean more than belts. Cotto - Pac is a world class fight but not a world championship fight - Mosley is the champion. Cotto isnt less of a chellenge now this the WBO isnt on the line.

When I hear how many 'times champion' ODLH is, I take it with a pinch of salt, same goes for Pacman.

Couldn't give a ****. If there were 2 boxing programs that ran for a year. One played all title fights, and one simply had the best fighting the best - there would be one clear favorite among fans.

The fight will be interesting with or without a belt.

Although 145lbs catchweight is about right for this fight
If Pacman wants to win the belt at WW then he should be prepared to face a 147lb champion to win it.

Nopes . . . I'll say under discussion or negotiations . . . take note no documents have been signed yet.

I'm confident that the belt will be at stake after all these bruhaha. In my head this might just be another press release to stir up people's interest.

    Quote me on this . . .

Again for me . . . it doesn't matter. :yep

No big deal after all. But if the title is at stake, it would be better, and it would be a plus for the promotion of the fight.

Regardless of whether you agree with the belt being in the mix when the weight is limited to 145. It EVEN MORE insane for the belt not to be on the line when they are fighting within the WW division boundries.

As I said before if the belt is on the line and Cotto loses this fight it would be very strange for him to still be the champion.

It matters to me for 2 reasons...One, another belt could add on to Pac's legacy...which is already ridiculous...and two...it's would show that Cotto believes in himself.

definitely is for me. this fight is purely for pac to win another belt in another weight. beyond that, there is really no reason to fight cotto. floyd or jmm would be a better fight.

if pac is not fighting for the belt, he should just walk away. no need to risk his p4p title if cotto is not risking his belt.

This fight has no bearing on the WW division in all honesty (Pac won't ever be a full time WW as I'm certain he'll go down to 140 to fight Mosley) so Id on't care much about the belts.

We're changing our tune now I see...Didn't you say the following on my thread.

So is it official or under negotiations cause it can't be both.

nah, I don't mind, the fight in itself is a big event, and if you want to take the championship away from the welterweight champ, you should let him come in at the welterweight limit.

for pac, beating a top welter would be an accomplishment itself while for cotto, beating the current best boxer in the world would be enough. of course it would look much better for pac if he could get an official, 7th title in different weight classes or cotto defending his title against a beast from a division down.
