Correct and Froch's nose earned £10m plus for a bread and butter defence at Wembley.

Absolutely shocking and the top grubs get paid far too much.

Spread the wealth around I say.

    it isn't communist russia

I want to watch Froch and AJ and i'm happy to pay. I don't wanna watch some two bit hall show unless I know somebody personally involved.

You'd probably need to fight every week to earn that kind of cash, but I think you're not allowed to for a couple of months if you've been knocked out, and don't get sanctioned if your face is full of cuts.

So you'd probably at least need to be a serviceable jouneyman with maybe get a couple of TV appearances.

Boxing is not unique in the top 1% earning 99% of the money, it's the same if football - a Man City players earning vs a mid table Championship players is worlds apart.

It seems worse in America. You hear stories from various people in boxing how journeymen earn peanuts over there.

I suppose it's because there are more fighters over there and they have no domestic or continental title that holds any prestige so there are loads of small hall shows that go untelevised and don't make much, if any, money. Still, getting slapped about regularly for $100 or so seems wrong.
