Is it a coincidence that PBF is not fighting the best at welter weigts ?

I think it has to do with him being a small dude ... started at 130 then 135..... by the time he arrived at 140-150 your talking about a guy fighting 10-20 lbs over his prime weight ....

I believe he has made "smarter choices" as he has arrived into the higher weight classes but you can't knock him because at his prime weights he fought just about everyone and aside from the 1st castillo fight the fights were all wipeouts !

I do understand your frustration though but I do believe he will fight Cotto after the DLH fight...the demand for this fight is ridiculous its on the wishlist for everyone !

Imagine had Tito picked and choosed opponents upon arrival at 160 ? He could have avoided Hopkins after destroying Joppy and fought some other guys won easily and retired undefeated lol

He is "semi" retired! I guess that means he only fights rematches or fights he's sure to win. The semi retired status gives him a pass to avoid dangerous opponents like Cotto and Marg. As stupid as that sounds it's the truth.

 

Question to Floyd haters, are you absolutely confident that Floyd v Cotto wont happen? What are you going to say when it does?

 

Agree completely - PBF has taken less risks as he's moved up and has chosen his fights carefully according to style and earning potential. Can't throw the guy under the bus for that, and he will fight Cotto if Miguel can handle Tony.

What would you say if Floyd flat out says no, and says "I've acomplished all I need to accomplish. I'm done with this sport now?" or something ridiculous?

 

Mayweather has been chasing mosely and DLH for years. Calling them out every after fight interview. Shane and DLH keeps moving up higher in weight while Floyd is chasing the big names like Mosely, DLH, Kostya. Don't be a noob.

 

Just how big is demand for a Cotto fight in the USA? I don't mean with the boxing nuts but with the average sports fan?

 

Sometimes I wonder if people actually follow boxing or just hype from idiots. Fact 1 Floyd have one of the best resumes in the game today. To say that he side steps away from "real competition" is just absurd. He fought guys in prime, bigger, stronger, quick, pressure fighters while moving up to 5 weight classes. It is not easy task or everyone else will do it instead of drain to make weight to get a size advantage. Fact 2 that Floyd have consistently called out Mosely, DLH, Kostya, Hatton, Cotto but they all ran from him. Mosely and DLH moved up. Kostya choose Hatton instead of Floyd. Cotto was "not ready" Hatton was "not ready". By "ready" it means that the prime fighter is waiting for FLoyd to slow down and hope for a easy fight.

 

I am very confident this fight will be made. If it is not, well, I will have to admit I was wrong and denounce Floyd and his evil ways. I am not spewing any bull**** hate in the meanwhile, unlike a lot of the crew here, so I wont look as stupid as that lot if I end up wrong.

 

Let me bring you to reality. It is not Floyd's responisbility to chase after Margarito, Cotto, CLottey or williams. It should be the other way around. You obviously have no common sense whatsoever. Why would Floyd want to fight prospects again? or rookie champs again? when he have already been there and done that. when he is the much much more established fighter. What FLoyd did at 130 Margo, Williams, CLottey couldn't even top it right now. Cotto is at the half way mark of floyd right now. Floyd earned the right to pick and choose bc thats what top fighters do. THey got options, they are no longer at the bottom looking up. If you really expects floyd to fight no name margo, williams, or clottey instead of Oscar, Hatton, and now Cotto then you are truely stupid.

 

Cotto and Margo are hype jobs. Typical Arum hype boys. I wouldn't be surprise if Arum pays Margo off so Cotto and Floyd would happen. Cotto will be expose and out cold when he meets floyd.
