Is it acceptable that Wlad NEVER fought Sanders ever again?

Discussion in 'World Boxing Forum' started by Plaster...Sad, Mar 12, 2012.

  1. I mean, he got KTFO right? So... isn't it kinda cool for a quality champ to avenge a loss prior to being dubbed the greatest of all time? Does it count if your big brother kicks the dudes ass for you?

    Serious question.

But Sanders essentially disappeared after losing to Vitali. He was either retired, semi-retired, or inactive. For this reason it's reasonable that a Vlad-Sanders rematch never occured.

Sanders was bad ass. Vitali was very lucky to get out of that fight without suffering Wlad's fate. If Sanders actually cared about conditioning, he'd have KTFO both of them.

I don't understand why Big Bro stepped in and fought Sanders? Surely Wlad would want to avenge that loss and win his belt back? Did he not have a rematch clause? Is that not standard for title fights?

Unless it was a conscious decision to preserve Wlad's career?

I would have preferred a rematch to remove all doubt (the same with Khan-Prescott), but I guess he didn't really do anything spectacular after Vitali kicked his ass?, so demand for it died. Shame really... would have been an intriguing matchup.

Wlad tried to get the rematch, he really gets too much **** for this.
That said i think at the time he probably would have lost again.

He defended his heavyweight title without a rematch clause? I find that hard to believe. Surely you just enforce the rematch clause in your contract and you have the fight?

Why would he fight Vitali but refuse to fight the guy who he jusy wiped out?

Sanders was semi-retired when he first fought Wlad.

    :rofl

    why are you mad?

It's a legitimate question. Wlad got his **** pushed in by Corrie 'Par 5' Sanders and never enforced his a rematch clause. Instead Big Bro had to handle his bizznizz.
