Is it acceptable that Wlad NEVER fought Sanders ever again?

Following the Wladimir Klitschko fight, Sanders was supposed to have a bout against Lamon Brewster, the WBO number one heavyweight contender. Sanders refused; he wanted a big money fight instead. Sanders was then offered a shot at Roy Jones Jr. for a WBA-WBO heavyweight unification, but the WBO threatened to strip Sanders if he did this, because Jones was not among the top 10 in the WBO's ratings. Sanders finally decided to relinquish the heavyweight title, after Lennox Lewis said he was retiring. The WBC would make Sanders their number one contender to fight for the vacant title. The stage was finally set for Sanders to face the top-ranked challenger Vitali Klitschko.

Thus dropping the WBO belt to fight Vitali for the WBC and chance to become the possible lineal recognition. Sanders then only fought once over 2.5 years after the Vitali fight. And after that gap went 2-1 vs. nobodies.

I think Wlad would get a lot less hate if he did manage to avenge all he's loses. I mean Lewis get credit for beating the 2 fighters who beat him, with Wlad there is still questions whether or not he could beat Sanders.

Well, comparing the black-eye ko losses of great and near-great heavies:

Johnson - unavenged loss to Choynski (HoF but smaller)
Schmeling - unavenged loss to Daniels
Walcott - unavenged loss to Simon
Tyson - unavenged loss to Douglas

Judging Wlad against his peers (heavyweights), there aren't too many greats with an unavenged knockout loss as bad as Sanders. It doesn't negate everything he has achieved in his career, but likewise it can't be completely whitewashed either.

Put it this way, his record would look a lot better if he had rematched Sanders and beat him decisively.

“Yes, it would be nice to fight him [Wladimir] again. I do not know why he never wanted a rematch.” - Sanders.

"Everyone wants to know why Wladimir lost to Sanders. My opinion is Wladimir has to fight Sanders." - Vitali

"I cannot wait for a rematch with Sanders." - Wlad

"After this Saturday, I would like to see him get right back in there with a rematch against Sanders" - Roach

Personally I think Wlad wanted it but his management kept him away, another loss so soon after could have been hugely damaging, so they sent in the Terminator.

sanders was tied to a slave contract

he won he destroyed the "next big thing"

anniliated wladamir in a handful iof minutes

this was his Buster Douglas moment and how do they reward him ????

approx £300k for his next fight...

Of course he was not going to accept it and Wlads team couldve made that fight and been somewhat fair to Corrie in the process

Instead they got what they perceived to be a weak ranked guy in Brewster and line him up for the wbo

then Wlad got KTFO all over again

    LOL

    Served them right !!

Why would the WBO strip Sanders for unification, when unification in most cases takes priority over other fights? Also, how could Jones be ranked in the WBO when he was the WBA champ? It's typical that sanctioning bodies won't give rankings to other belt holders.

Everything else in your post is accurate. The part about the WBO may be accurate also, but it doesn't hold water IMO.

The one who declined the rematch was Sanders who vacated the WBO belt to take a shot at Vitali and get his ass kicked, then he just vanished.

    Dont be a troll.
Everybody knows that Sanders dropped WBO in order to fight for WBC. Wlad wanted a rematch but Sanders didn't. He wanted a bigger payday for a better belt.

Rematch clause works only if the guy wants to keep the belt. He dumped it. how could they enforce the clause then?

Lewis made sure that he could say he beat every man he ever faced.
