    Wow, really?

He totally just backed you into a corner and there was nothing you could answer with, since you would be wrong, so you call him an "idiot." Stay classy, San Diego.

TBH I always have Collazo beating Hatton whenever I watch that fight, so I tend not to give that victory too much weight. Though when you look at Cotto, Williams, Margarito, Mosley (not the Mosley who had been out of action for 18 months) you see 4 very good fighters who should have been fought. That would have been clearing house, instead he waited for them to clean themselves out.

Even if we ignore the 4 top names you still had Collazo, Cintron, Clottey out there to beat. And whilst Clottey, Cotto (notive how many of these have C's in theit name?) and Magarito were top rank, what was the excuse for Williams? Or Mosley pre-retirement?

This can be done to anyone's resume, especially pac. Hernandez was still great champion, it ws Floyds 18th fight. When you try to deface one fighter, you only set yourself up for your fighter to be as well. which is why its best to be a boxing fan, rather than a fighter fan, this way you can enjoy every fighter and not limit yourself.

You're totally right. One could try to say:

Joseph Agbeko: Darchinyan, Perez, Perez II, Mares, Mares II
    or
Nonito Donaire: Vargas, Marquez, Sidorenko, Montiel, Narvaez
    or
Manny Pacquiao: Cotto, Clottey, Margarito, Mosley, JMM III
    or
Sergio Martinez: Williams, Pavlik, Williams II, Dzinziruk, Barker
    or
Carl Froch: Taylor, Dirrell, Kessler, Abraham, Johnson
    or
Paul Williams: Wright, Martinez, Cintron, Martinez, Lara
    or
Juan Manuel Marquez: Mayweather, Diaz II, Katsidis, Ramos, Pacquiao III
    VS...
Floyd Mayweather: de la Hoya, Hatton, Marquez, Mosley, Ortiz

    I get it, really.

The scrutiny is insane though. This is boxing. Everyone's resume can be picked apart to an insane level. Very few cannot. I find it commendable that Mayweather gets so much criticism and it is always the same angles. I just find it invalid. See his run at 130. See his run at 147 without fighting all the guys you mentioned. See his breezes through 135 and 140. Aside from Tszyu, there was no one at 135 or 140 he "ducked."

Coincidence or not, it works against him no matter how you see it I'm afraid, regardless of how we think he would have done.

Just like it worked it against SRR since he didn't fight the elite black welters.

No coincidence. I think he was wary of Marg, Williams and Cotto in the same way he's wary of Pac.

Frietas gets his name mentioned a few times at 135 as well.

But yeah ANY record can be torn apart...just few claim to be themselves the greatest of all time. Guys like Finito Lopez fought everyone in his division and was never so verbal as to his greatness, Segura fights anyone and everyone and never claims to be the greatest ever. Wonjongkam beats guys who go on to be champions but gets derided for his record...It seems a better idea to back up what you say IMO.

I doubt that. Cotto's camp are the ones who said they were not ready for Mayweather. The Henry Bruseles fight was suppose to lead to the Cotto fight but Cotto's team wasn't ready. Marg and Williams aren't big threats to Floyd in my opinion.

Whether you think they are threats doesn't matter. Most people would pick Floyd over Pac but Floyd still doesn't seem his usual confident self about this fight.
Cotto may have also been worried about Floyd but that doesn't mean Floyd wasn't also wary. Cotto looked a beast before he lost to Margarito.

I take nothing away from Cotto but he would get dominated by Floyd now and back then. How did he look like a beast when he barely got by Mosley and Paulie M. had good moments against him.

[ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RHNIalMWvo8[/ame] This is what the Cotto vs Mayweather fight would probably look like. Henry and Cotto's style is identical in so many ways.

You're probably right about Cotto losing.
If you don't think Cotto looked a beast back then fair play but I think most people disagree that's why a lot of people wanted to see the fight back then.
Prime Cotto was much better than that guy. Obviously how good you are at a particular style makes a difference (IE. Cotto could beat some poor version of Mayweather).
Saying Cotto didn't look good because of Mosley & Paulie is like saying Floyd didn't look good because Judah had moments, Ortiz had moments, Hatton had moments.
