    That's because it's a recent issue:patsch
Are you saying it's only casual fans who thought Marquez won?
I know that you know that is a million miles from the truth. You're not stupid, but that is a slip.

No I think Marquez won a close one. You were blaming casual fans for causing this problem earlier in the thread but it's not the case and casual fans are important.

Look at Johnson, Presscott, Matthyse, Chisora etc before you make 100 out of 2+2.

    Will that do?
My reference to casual fans was only with a view to the TV companies and their commentary because it's becoming more of a minority sport.
At no point did I "blame" casual fans. That wasn't what I meant and since you're the only one making such a big issue of it clearly you're the only one who thinks I did.

Promoters 'buy' wins for their stars but there has been a change in judging. Different judges like different things and promoters get judges they want in. Obviously judges want to stay in work so they don't upset the apple cart. In BIG fights both have a say on the officials. It isn't new.

Well your the one making a deal of nothing. I don't see a legitamate point your making with this thread. There are as many examples going against your case as there is for it.

However when you look at decisions going the way of the big name or home fighter that happens all the time.

In relevance to the Marquez-Pacquiao trilogy, your statement does'nt hold water.

In the first two fights, when Pacquiao backed up to reset, Marquez would chase him to the ropes. It happened consistently so it was'nt a case of Marquez depending on Pacquiao's aggressiveness.

This third fight had Pacquiao starting off wanting to box off the backfoot. I'll remind you that those first couple of rounds Marquez was hitting Pacquiao cleanly with leads.
My point is that Marquez in all three fights was'nt strictly dependent on Pacquiao coming foward, so it should'nt be a bs excuse for a judge to gift wrap him the fight. Even when Pacquiao was'nt coming foward, Marquez looked for and connected with scoring leads.

Marquez is the best counterpuncher in the business, as long as Pacquiao is coming foward, there's no reason for Marquez to meet Pacquiao head on with foward aggression of his own.

Take a fighters foward aggression and work it against him, its called "boxing"........for a fight judge to hold it against a fighter, particularly an aggressive counterpuncher like Marquez, is outright ******ed.

I was referring to your previous post where it seemed to go against what you were saying before,or at least was somewhat contrary.
There's nothing wrong with my reading comprehension and there's no need for name calling.
So as you're clearly one of those posters who HAS to have the last word, and since it's the festive season, you can have this one on me.
Go on,I love the spirit of giving at Xmas and you're the only child outside of my own and my grandchild that I'm giving a present to.
Go on,no need to thank me.:hi:

with all things equal (no. of punches landed etc), i rather give it to the aggressor on a 10 point must scoring system.
