Is it better to have a glass chin, but also have a world class defense, or is it better to have a rock solid chin, but have a horrible defense. I don't mean below avrage, I mean horrible.
Which has the advantage when it comes to winning fights.
Which is better for a long career.
Which is better to have when taking into acccount one's post career life?

Yeah, Ward's mandible may be suspect, but he makes up for it with his superb defense, so that his questionable whiskers don't become an issue.

Lewis was able to do this after the first McCall fight, with Manny Steward in his corner, until Rahman tagged his shaky chin.

If you have a glass chin, your only option to make it at the top and stay there is to be a defensive wizard like ward. One shot is all it can take sometimes.

But i would rather have great defensive skills (with a bad chin) than horrible defensive skills (with a good chin), you can't get hurt if you don't get hit, and even guys with good chins if they keep getting hit then it will take its toll at some point.

    Great defense :happy:bbb:tong

If you've got a **** defense you're also likely to lose any good looks you may have had - and end up a hideously grotesque goblin ******, ala Andrew "Kid Thunder" Hartley.
