I get that, he was unified prior to his loss to Ruiz but surely just winning a rematch doesn't give automatic claim to unified again as he hasn't unified at all since becoming a champ for the 2nd time. Genuinely interested in your thoughts
I think it's a bit of a hollow title. Almost everyone considers Fury the best HW in the world. He had beaten Wladimir for the WBA, IBF, WBO, Ring and then was stripped. Then he beat Wilder for the WBC and Ring again. Technically AJ is a unified champ, but what's that claim really worth in a division where Fury is clearly the top dog?
Once you have more than one of the major belts you are considered unified, there’s no debate here really
When did this calling someone a unified champion begin? Before you were either a world title holder or if you held all the bells then you were the undisputed champion To me you should only be a unified champion if you have unified ALL the belts. If there’s a belt or two that you don’t hold, then all the belts are not unified so how can you be a unified champion? It can appear misleading but that’s just how I see it, I guess.
Makes me want to puke when I see that pompous bodybuilder Joshua on TV showing off those shiny belts, claiming he's number in the division because he has the most world titles. Would pay good money to see Pulev confront him on live tv, and smash him through a table Hasim Rahman style.
Eddie’s evil bodybuilding puppet must pay Fury will break his jaw and regain the belts evil Eddie stole he will then fart on the IBF title and throw it into a toilet on national tv forcing the bodybuilder to retrieve it from said toilet as Eddie starts blabbing “pay per view blah blah blah”
