Is it crazy that I only watch Heavyweight boxing?

It is the only division that really interests me.

I don't really care about fighters moving up and down weight classes of 7 pounds each.

I love the higher chances of knockout at Heavyweight.

Heavyweight Champion of the World is the top dog in the sport.

I just find it more entertaining for some reason.

Not really. But I find that 147-175 tends to have the highest quality of fighters.

To each his own. Lots of bigger guys struggle to enjoy the smaller guys fight. I think a lot of them think they can take them in their hearts of heart.

If you've not been a fan of boxing for that long, then no, I think that's pretty normal. Heavyweight has long been the marquee division in the sport for a reason. It's how most I think are first introduced to the sport.

But if you've been watching boxing for many years then yeah I find that unusual that you've not dipped a toe into the other divisions. Especially when you have some smaller guys who are huge punchers who can give us KO's just as brutal as heavyweights.

Heavyweight was the first division I got into but now that I've gotten into more weights it's not one of my favourites. Other weights guys are more active and don't duck as much, not as many rematch clauses, more talent, etc.

The Heavyweights popped my Boxing cherry, Tyson-Douglas made me obsessed with boxing. :deal:

But that's then, and this is now. This era of HW boxing has nothing on the 80's and 90's.

    Yeah. Its not the 70s-90s.
Theyre mostly fat, out of shape, gas out after 6 rounds.
Sloppy inaccurate punches, bad technique, rarely any combinations, cement feet, nobody feints, few fight inside.
Less than half the top 10 at any given time can actually box anywhere near as well as even the cruiserweights.

Alot of guys can punch though so its exciting ill give them that.

I mean, you like what you like, but it's kind of crazy, yeah. Heavyweight is by far the shallowest and least talented division in the sport. Definitely the least technical as well.

I'm much the same, I will happily watch heavyweight fights between fringe contenders or some up and coming prospects. I only really watch a few of the better fighters in the lower divisions. Inoue being one of them.
