ive said this about 5x in the last two weeks

i call fighters bums...yes i realize they arent literal bums....its a figurative term u could use for any sport..

yes there are nfl players i call bums....but im sure they could do real well in the CFL or the arena league.....there are guys who are .300 hitters for years at the AAA level....but cant crack it at the major league level.....still real good ball players...but figuratively they are bums at the major league level......same thing goes for ball players....guys id call bums figuratively but can prob go make six figures a year in europe somewhere.....

same thing with boxers.....i can call a guy a bum when debating ....but i know id give the man respect face to face.....its just a figurative term....some of you like to get on your high horse and act like people who use the word have no understanding or respect

This. If a fighter is a bum compared to the the best in his profession or his opponent he is what he is.

Sportsmen in other fields don't very often die entertaining the fans.so it is different.

Panama Lewis wasn't fighting and most fighters are probably on something. However, Margarito is the only boxer that has plastered his wraps lately that I know of.

Boxers don't die very often, either. Check your facts.

The term "bum" is relative to where they're at in the boxing world. The number 10 ranked welterweight may be a bum in the ring against a champion, but would in most cases kill the average ESB fighter in a street fight.

I don't use the term personally cos I find it disrespectful but I know that most using it here are just using it for effect... boys will be boys. Certainly getting offended over it is just silly tho.
