No he isn't and shouldn't be label as number 1 supermiddleweight cause he hasn't beaten any fighters that is very good. I like Andrade but i ain't no dummy and say he's a great fighter. He's a good figter that is way 1 dimensional. Imo right now Andre Ward is number 1 smw cause he beat Kessler who already easily beat Andrade. So if thats Bute best win is beating Andrade then saying him should be label as number 1 smw then you should hit yourself in the head.

Well, I see you are rating Froch #2 at LHW. We're talking about the SMW division. BTW, Pascal was not the WBC LHW when he lost to Froch. He was a young prospect who had never beat a solid contestant. As for today, Pascal would kick Froch's ass.

At the time Froch won against Pascal, Pascal was not a better win than Bika, Zuniga or Andrade.

I can live with Ward at number 1 even if for me, a single win is not enough to occupy that spot.

In which is why whoever wins the super six is the real true number 1 smw.

Boxers change. Think about it. For a long time, Pascal was studying in a police school and was facing bums. Pascal was thinking at that time he could beat anyone easily. He got a serious shoulder injury and had to rest for several months. His first real test, Froch, is coming at that point. Pascal didn't fight his fight against Froch and learned his lesson. Since that time, he is a very serious boxer, training hard, listening to his corner, studying with a Cuban trainer, Pedro Diaz. He has become a more mature boxer.

So, is there only one Jean Pascal?

Thats exactly why I don't put Ward #1.
We're yet to see if it was a fluke or if the headbuts made a difference(I don't think so) plus Kessler was inactive & possibly shouldn't have been ranked #1.
Until Ward & Bute fight I'm not 100% sure but for me Bute's done more @ SMW plus I'd just about give him the edge over Ward. But hopefully we'll see eventually.

It depends. What about if the winner of the super six loses 2 of his 3 first stage fights? It could happen.

Of course, if Ward stays unbeaten until the end, he will be number 1 but will have to face Bute to earn the champion status. In fact, if Ward wins his next fight, I will probably give him the number one spot already, unless bute figts a really big name.

You know, if you click the "no" icon in the poll section, you don't have to write another "no" on the thread, unless you have something more to say. ;)

Why is it unfair and who do you consider number 1?

    Cool it mother F'er!

Last time I checked Cobra Froch beat the WBC LHW champ by decision. That most take some really good boxing skills.

You'll have to say more than that to convince me. Three fighters lost in the first round so they never won against one of the super six. I'm sure Andrade could win against Taylor, who gasses easily, and maybe against Froch. Bika could give many problems to many of the super six. What a muskox fight it would be if Ward faces Bika, but that's another story.
