I agree to an extent. I think its fair to put any of the 3 in the top spot. Although I don't put all that much stock in Bute beating Andrade(anybody who's best asset is his ability to get punched in the face can't really be all that good) I think he is just that talented. The SMW division looks like its gonna be giving us some great fights over the next few years.

:good Good post man. I don't get how people can say theres no way you can put Abraham/Ward/Bute @ #1. There's a reasonable argument 4 any of those guys.

When a guy gets ko'd 3 times and loses 4 times in his last 5 fights, he's not supposed to be tagged as elite of the division, especially when it's a new division for him. Taylor did nothing in the SMW, he doesn't carry the weight well and he's not a better win than Andrade, who proved himself on multiple occasions. If Taylor is still excellent after losing against three top guys, then why Andrade would be a bum after losing to 2 top guys?

painfull to say, but Froch has to be considered to be the no.1 fighter for now. Granted, he will not hold that position very long, but due to his resume he should hold that spot for now. Dirrell and Pascal, disputed or not, are better wins than Andrade in my eyes.

I mean he might be but doing that kinda undermines the entire Super 6 does it not?

I don't think it does because only 1 round's happened so far. Bute's going to have to keep finding strong opponents to face in the meantime otherwise if a guy gets (or stays) hot in the tournament, their wins will probably get them to leapfrog Bute.

Right, but can`t be crowned champ if he doesn`t meet a very probable undefeated Bute.

Andrade could beat at least two of them.

Bute did beat in 4th (last fight counts) who Kessler beat 12th.
Kessler hadn`t got better wins than Bute.

No. 1 doesn`t mean the champion undisputed but the momentan best guy according to last and overall peformances in the category.

Ward has beaten only Kessler and Miranda from the names.
AA has beaten only Taylor at 168.
Froch did beat Taylor, Pascal and Direll but none of these without emotions. His weakness is not the record but the clarity of best winnings.

Froch is number one and will cement that after he beats kessler by kO or TKO.

I would say it's inaccurate to call him that. Cogent arguments could be made for Ward. And the winner of the Dirrel/A.A. fight as well.....

No that is reserved for the winner of the super 6 tourny. With that said I do think Bute would beat a number of the fighters in that tourny.
