Is It Fair To Label Lucian Bute The #1 SMW?

Bute versus Ward could be a good one....

 

LMAO at beating Andrade making someone number 1. Ward, Kessler, Froch, Abraham and even Taylor have better wins at 168.

 

Andrade is a joke whos beat no one, Taylor was a MW champion who beat Hopkins and fought all the top men

 

I thought that Bute showed it when he ko'd Andarade.

 

Bute has beaten Bika and Andrade twice. First time in much less convincing fashion than Kessler and that is all. Ward has defeated Kessler who have defeated Andrade, Beyer, Mundine, Siaca and Sartison.

 

This is exactly why more boxing tournaments are needed.....

 

Show a little respect for boxers please. Andrade may not have much talent but he does his job seriously and he's not a joke. In case you don't know, he beat Stieglitz and Tsypko, both top 20. A boxer is not a joke when he beats a top 20.

You're right, Taylor was a champion at MW. That's another division, in case you haven't noticed! Taylor has a single win at SMW: against the shot Lacy. He lost to Pavlik in their rematch, lost to Froch and lost to Abraham. Want it or not, he's nothing in the division and only his past gave him the opportunity to be part of the super 6. Taylor would lose big time to Andrade. Is he a joke then?

 

Taylor only won against Lacy. Please. You're gonna be labeled as a stupid hater if you go on like that. Kessler has better wins than Bute. He also has 2 losses... Abraham has a single win at SMW...against Taylor.

I think any of the super six fighters would be nice to watch against Bute, except maybe Dirrell.

Finally, if Bute or whoever wins again the winner of the Super Six, yes, then he could arguably the No.1, but even then the winner of the Super Six has to be ranked higher in my opinion, because of his achievement to win a tournament full of great fighters. You can always find a fly in the ointment, but the winner of the Super Six will have fought the best opposition at SMW (except Bute).

If we would be talking about the strongest (and best) fighter at SMW right now, then my answer would of course be AA (as always)

 

Abraham can't, because he has fought only one fight at SMW.

 

Bute is not even the number one SMW !!! Most experts which i dont agree on most of the time have Andre Ward at the number one SMW. He clearly beat Kessler who was the favorite going in to this fight and also the tournament. Im sorry to say but the win over Kessler is way more impressive then all the guys Bute fought ! I dont know why Bute is not even in the tournament !!!

No, it's not fair. There's currently a tournament to determine who is. And if he beats whoever wins that tourney, THEN he is.

There's a good reason Bute didn't want in this tournament and don't give me the andrade rematch crap, like he turned down the millions he'd have made from the super 6 to fight andrade lol.

He will be a carefully matched stay at home fighter for a good while yet.Imo he's a cash cow for his promotion team in canada they don't want him in with anyone likely to beat him anytime soon.

Mark my words this time next year he will not have faced any of the current fighters in the super six bar maybe taylor.

 

Beating a couple of crappy top 20 168lber is better than beating an ATG MW Champion now? I suppose the journeymen at 154 are better than Mayweather now for a 154lb champion

Taylors win over Lacy in itself is better than Andrade, Tsypko is a lacy left over after all and Taylor arguably beat Pavlik in the rematch

You're a nuthugging idiot. Bute has decent skills, but he isnt the top5 at SMW, lets see if he can do something with his career, he'll probably fight another journeyman next, he should be chasing Pavlik, Williams, Green or some decent fighters to actually make a real career
