Is it fair to say, Hopkins D12 Pascal, is an "against the odds" upset in itself?

    Simple enough question.

Do you think Hopkins, whether you agree with the scoring or not, getting a draw in Pascal's hometown should be a contender for an upset of the year look?

I'm not implying that I think this was an upset of the year, just do you think it should be considered one of the better ones of 2010, if at all.

For the record, I had picked Hopkins to win on a decision, so I don't think it was too big of an upset.

Hopkins won, and its one of the biggest upsets of the year, odds on pascal were 1.3/4 for him to win the fight.
thats like how marquez was vs katsidis if I remember right and khan vs maidana also around 1.4

Though I think it's an upset, I didn't think Pascal looked good against Dawson--gassing from the 4th round etc and being a bit lucky with the cut. However, Hopkins looked terrible against a Jones who had just been ko'd in a round the fight before, so I had no idea he could put in a performance like that.

Hopkins won in my opinion and it wasn't an upset to me.

I was wondered that Pascal was able to knock Hopkins down

    there should be a rematch

Hell yeah. I didn't see hopkins as any threat. Even a draw is an upset from my p.o.v.

Not an upset, it's even normal that people think it's an upset because no one really watch Hopkins fightning.

People has been watching Hopkins alot in the last decade and even the last three fight are not suprise.

I thought Hopkins was the best LH out there before the fight, so I dont consider it an upset. But I see where people were coming from picking Pascal.

I think a rematch would be more conclusive for Hopkins. His boxing brain is immense. Now hes been in with Pascal, he will spend his time formulating an even greater tactical masterclass with brother Nazim to pick him apart.

No, because Pascal is really nothing special.
He's enjoying his 15 minutes of fame now, because in two years , everyone will be asking "Jean who?"

thats not fair, he straight up beat dawson and hopkins looked like **** vs jones and he seemed gassed, after getting kd twice and being way behind on the cards after 5 rounds it should be logical if he got easily beaten or tko'd, him giving one of the greatest comebacks of the last years is definitely a epic performance and we should give hopkins credit for it.

No. I picked Hopkins to win and am not at all surprised that he performed as well as he did.

I favored Pascal heading in and ultimately thought Bernard outfought him (but scored it a draw). It wasn't a shocking upset, though. It was impressive that Hopkins still had that kind of performance up his sleeve given his age and after how he'd looked recently - but nobody who favored Pascal thought of it as an iron-clad guarantee.

A 46 year old man beating a 28 year old man, or just hanging with him to the wire in a sport about physicality and conditioning is an upset in of itself. And to do it at the world level, is pretty ****ing impressive and an upset to father time.

Aside from the usual jokers who poke their head in and let us know that, "Pascal is going to retire the old man, send him out on his back for good!" The same sort that did the same when Hopkins fought Pavlik. Notice any similarities between the fighters?

Hopkins will be 50 before anyone who loads up on single shots will be able to definitively beat him.

    I agree here.

Although I questioned who to pick going into Hopkins vs Pascal, my brain said Hopkins is still one of the most danerous light heavies out there.
