Is it funny that Golovkin wants Mayweather, but says he's not ready for Ward?

"except the money isn't there (yet)" and when will it be there. When he's 40? Dude is 33 years old and guys like Broner, Canelo Alvarez, and Crawford are fighting better opponents in their careersthan this middle age prospect. Enough with crap about him someday being a PPV star. There are like three legitimate ppv stars in boxing, and Golovkin ain't one of them. Canelo whom everyone thought was gonna turn into a ppv star after fighting Mayweather did terribly number in his last ppv. If you didn't know being a ppv star requires risk taking. Not fight in front of a bunch of tommato cans in front of gamblers in Monaco.

Boxers these days are in their prime from 35-37, 38. There's like 5 years left to see him knocking MW and SMW out. And if he's dedicated to this sport like Wlad, we will see GGG in the ring after 40, cause Wlad won't retire either.

GGG did the best. Gathering so much experiene as amateur, that all the professionals will be schooled.

Um who exactly? Don't say Wlad. Don't say Floyd. Don't say Pac.

No one is in their prime at 35,36 or 37.

    No one.

    You're mistaken.

Wlad is definetly in his prime right now. The performance against Wach was a proof. He went 12 rounds full power, great dodging and foot work. He could go 20 rounds like this.

Wlad is not in his prime.

AND more importantly he's in the weakest division in the sport with vast physical advantages over just about everyone he fights.

GGG is leaving his prime now.

Floyd fought Mosley with 33, who was schooled against GGG in a sparring session. Mosley ran away most of the time.

    That wasn't Floyd's prime.

GGG is a middleweight. Mosley is career Welterweight. Obviously he'd beat Mosley in sparring.

 So you couldn't find a better example than Wladmir Klitschko. So tell me how many fighters you know that are 6ft 7 and outway their opponent by 40pounds in addition to having 5ft advantage over them. Golovkin does not enjoy those advantages. The two other boxers who feat those examples (Mayweather and Hopkins) are both defensive geniuses, something Golovkin isn't.

thats true but ward should be fighting light heavy not calling out untested middle weights. ward should be fighing kolev and ggg should be fighting canelo, froch or chavez jr. but all the guys are calling out smaller fighters from lighter weight classes. if floyd called out a jr ww it would be hell to pay.

but ward can call out ggg
    ggg can call out mayweather
and so on and so fourth

You raise some good points. However, part of Golovkin's allure is how he's been built up as a fighter so dangerous that no one wants to fight him. The problem with that is of course that the more you're built up, the bigger name you become, the more people want to fight you. The more people that want to fight you, the pickier you become. Golovkin is no different than any fighter in that respect. Just like every other fighter, he has to weight risk vs. reward. This isn't just a sport to him, it's his livelihood.

Golovkin saying he will fight anyone from 154 to 168 was a great marketing tool to build himself up. He was also smart to attach his name to Mayweather's. That's one of the best ways to boost your profile(see Margarito). Now, the fact that Ward is calling him out on his words is a minor setback as Ward actually has the size and skillset to tear down Golovkin's aura of invincibility. However, Ward is not an overly popular fighter and has been inactive. Golovkin can easily avoid him without facing much scrutiny. It's a smart move. I think his team has done an excellent job with him. He's gone from virtual unknown to budding star relatively quickly.

Cry me a river. Is Floyd not the reigning lineal and 2x champ at SWW? 3G offered to meet him at SWW. Its not like he'd have to move up, like for Ward and Hopkins who both called out Floyd at 160
