Is it Hatton on the Slide?

I doubt that very much.The British fans completely overwhelmed and drowned out the yanks.Most proclaimed it was the most amazing support for an event they`d ever seen aswell as the atomosphere.My boss was there and he said the same thing.Hatton had his army there that night.He simply wasnt good enough.

In Vegas his having to get over an 8hr time difference - serious climate change - hotel rooms food etc etc plus he only went 2 weeks before the fight which is never great - manchester would have certainly helped him - outcome still the same but im sure it would have helped

I would say no. However, he has to change two things if he is to come back successfully.

1. His mindset. He got so carried away with the hype regarding the Mayweather fight he listened to the wrong people, & got so carried away he believed in himself too much & now appears a broken man after the defeat, when in reality he should hold his head high.

2. His trainer. I have always said Billy Graham is an awful trainer, its all fitness & no technique. AND he was another who wouldnt tell hatton the truth, I class him as one of the 'wrong people' that I mention in point 1. All that **** about Ricky being as good a boxer as Floyd, s fast as Floyd, etc... He filled Hattons head with yes man ****, when Ricky needed a man that would tell him the truth about Mayweather. Cos of Billy Graham, Hatton thought he was a match skill wise for this guy:-(
& then theres that ****in belly bag that Graham has Hatton hitting, I have said here before its a useless repetitive piece of **** that learns Hatton nothing. But dont listen to me, find the piece on ESPN where Teddy Atlas talks about that stupid belly bag, Atlas exposes it as the worst piece of training apparatus ever created.
& if any of you cant find it, I will gladly tell you all wht Atlas had to say about Grahams belly bag.

Hattons not finished IF he realises a defeat to Mayweather isnt a humiliation, & more importantly IF he gets a new trainer.

 

Hatton may aswell have been hypnotised for that fight. He truly "believed" he could win after buying into his hype and the yes men.But he didnt KNOW HOW he was going to win nor what tools he needed in order to complete his objective.Its pretty simply if one man goes into a fight with a knife and the opponent has a gun its farely safe to say the guy with the gun is going to win and this was the Floyd Hatton fight on the weekend.Yeah Ricky had decent tools but i mean common now! You` ve got Billy with that ******ed bag and Ricky banging away on a static target and all the SKY team and reporters are like wow! Look at his pace strength power viciousness bla bla.It was all bull****.Anyone can look great hitting a static target but we all know Floyd and 70% of most boxers ARE NOT STATIC targets.Like i said already Billy is an overrated trainer.Even he was lost for words by when interviewed by the SKY team and was fumbling when asked "HOW" Ricky was going to beat Floyd.

 

to be fair any version of hatton wasn't going to beat floyd,but i just had an underying feeling afterwards that hatton could have fought better.the question for hatton now is especially with another 10 million quid in the bank what's his motivation going to be lik?.up to now i've always taken him to beat witter,post mayweather i'm not so sure.however surely this is a fight that should now be made.

 

I'm sticking with what I thought all along.

before the Tsztu fight, Hatton fought practically nobody. In the Tszyu fight he fought a guy past his prime, in his hometown with a scandalous ref. The fact Tszyu has not fought since backs up the claim he was winding down.
Since then Hatton has not had the ref and hometown advantage and the likes of Urango and Collazo, average as they are, are still better than what Ricky was fighting. THAT'S why he's not looked as dominant and THAT'S why I will always maintain he was overrated.
The Mayweather backed me up on that, and a fight with Witter will provide final confirmation

 

Change the ****ing record. Ok if hatton beats witter if they fight which i really hope and then cleans the entire division out u will be saying oh cotto and mayweather were not in that division. The reason i will pick hatton is that can witter fight for three full minutes no? yes he looked good against harris but having a go at hatton resume look at witters thats just as bad. Ok Chop Chop got beat of mayweather, harris did not want to fight hatton saw maussa as an easier option and we know what happened next. Enough said your hating is getting ridiculous and annoying.

 

In terms of fitness he has looked in fantastic shape in his last two bouts. I'm no expert on fighting fitness but he has appeared to be in top condition.

I agree with Scurla in the sense that I haven't noticed any serious deterioration in Hatton's technique or ability, I put it down more to the higher level of opposition.

 

Personally i think its just a case of Hatton being a 1 paced pressure fighter....his 1 pace is a very fast pace,but nevertheless,he does not have gears to go up or down with,he also has no adaptability,he fights every man the same.
When moving up in class to somebody like Mayweather,Hatton just did not have the boxing brain to cope with a man who could figure him out.Physically i feel Hatton is still as fit and strong as always and i see no decline that way,i feel pure boxing knowledge and ring craftmanship beat Hatton.
I believe Hatton will destroy Witter simply because of their contrasting styles,Witter could well panic when pressured,Mayweather didnt.
What needs to remembered maybe is that Hatton fought a prime Mayweather after the 2 best victories of his career being a washed up Tszyu and an all but washed up Castillo,was he really ever really in mayweathers league to begin with ? maybe not.

 

As much as i love the lad, i dont think hes on the slide i think he has just hit the elite and cant handle it, lets look back a bit, the collazo fight was terrible and imo he lost easily, he was hurt by urangos body shots badly (god knows why urango didnt stick with the body after that ????) the castillo fight was just starting to kick off and castillo was just finding his gears when the body shot landed, some will say it was a fluke and was just lucky it hit that spot that winds you, true? yeah maybe and if you re-watch the fight you can just start to see how castillo might take over, then boom the shot lands. Even going back to his defining moment of beating the zooster..... i wasnt that impressed and thought zoo gave the fight away rather than hatton taking it, zoo admitted post fight that he shouldnt of tried to match hatton on the inside, zoo could of kept him at range and won that fight imo.
So there ya go lol, whats next i dunno , could maybe beat de la hoya who i think is way past his sell by now. May beat malinaggi but not sure, definately will get ko'ed by witter.

where was Hatton's body attack? I understand that Mayweather's defence means that it is extremely difficult to go round the sides, but Hattons footwork was seemingly atrocious

I seem to be the only one pissed off with his performance, he made everything that the Mayweather's were saying ( pre-fight), correct.

I cant believe the media are trying to turn him into some type of hero
