It's funny how a year ago when I asked the theoretical question..."If Pac were to somehow manage to beat DLH, Hatton & Mayweather, would you place him in the top 10 ATGs?" the response overwhelmingly was- "keep dreaming, it'll never happen but sure we'll put him in the top 5!"

Now, with Pac 2/3 of the way towards this miraculous feat, people still want him to add Mosley & Cotto to that list to crack the top 10! When does it stop? Let's say he beats those 3, do you want the Klitschkos too?

Nothing is ever impossible when it comes to breaking records set by man.

The thing with this atg status is, there is always too much respect for past greats. If you include a new one in there, you are to take somebody off the list. And that's how people are having a hard time ranking new-comers.

Sorry, disagree. No one has a problem with putting someone where the rightfully belong. There have been many GREAT GREAT boxers, but were talking the elite of the elite, you can't just throw in the current name until thier accomplishments rival that of the guys already there.

I would have to say it is nearly impossible. Why? Because boxing now is very different than it was in a classical sense. For instance, look at a guy like Harry Greb or Henry armstrong. These guys not only fought 3x as much as the best of the best that today has to offer but they fought their best opponents usually multiple times.

Imagine Pac fighting PBF 5x in a row. It is not going to happen. Look at a guy like Sugar ray Robinson. When he was champion he would fight every month, not always against the elite, but there was always elite thrown in there. No fighter today can do that, its impossible with the state of boxing being a business rather than a test of warriors. A year after SRR won the welterweight title he fought like 16x in the nest year!!! Imagine that.

Fighters then were just tougher and since the sport wasnt such a big money sport like it is today, fighters had to fight often to make a living.Greb fought for years with one good eye. Then he would fight at the bar, then bang some women, then fight in a professional fight the follow week and rinse and repeat.

Today, we have James Toney who is really the only throwback fighter in the game today. Will I ever rate a manny pacquaio above a Harry greb? No, never.

The reason is because a lot of people saw a weightdrained DLH so its still a good win but you cant compare it to a win against a "normal" DLH and 1 year ago hatton was so overrated, people actually thought he was ATG material but cmon hatton is not even top 200 ATG imo, he was just a good average 140 champ, waht would put manny in top 20 would be beating PBF then if he beats mosley not cotto because I think cotto is hand made for pac I would put him top 15, to get some ATG spots you need to take risks and be in fights that at least you are even or you are suppose to loose and win, then you would get some spots...I know you will tell me pac was an underdog against DLH but being serious if you knew before the fight that dlh was gonna be shot and weightdrained what line would you had set if you were vegas? At least pac -200 or -250...
