Is it just me or did Lennox Lewis seem to gas in a lot of fights?

I don't know what version of Boxrec your looking at but my version says there was a 10lbs difference between Rahman 2 and Vitali.

Boxers say a lot of **** in a lead up to fights. What did you expect Lewis to say, I'm a bit out of shape and overweight and not taking Vitali seriously. How many times has Arreola said he's now taking his career seriously and shown up looking like a sack of ****?

The shot that McCall caught Lewis with was far from lucky ,he just exploited LL's bad habit of dropping his hands after throwing in that fight .

There is nothing like Lucky shot in boxing. Watch the episode of Ringside that ESPN did on Lennox Lewis were Manny steward who will later train Lewis explained their preparation going into that fight. After they watching film and noticed that Lewis threw a lot of right hand, countering that right hand became their primary game plan. Through out training camp as Emmanuel explained, he had Oliver practicing that punch. Lewis was a better fighter than Oliver, but on the night of that first fight Oliver had a better game plan than Lewis. And before you say the fight was stopped to quick, Emmanuel also said that the ref made the right decision. We know you're a Lewis fan but please learn to give credit were credit is due.

I'm a Lennox friend & fan & I agree with you & Manny. The referee called it right. Take a look at Lennox eyes he was out of it. Lennox got laxadasical & paid fo it twice. If not for that he would have retired undefeated as he eventuallly beat every fighter he faced in the pro ring.
My only regret in Lennox career was he never got to put Riddick Bowe on his ass

So are you agreeing with me or do you still believe the punch Oliver landed on Lewis was Lucky? That was a well engineered game plan by one of the greatest minds in boxing history. That punch was rehearsed and perfected by Oliver going into that first fight. This is coming from someone who believes Lewis would have defeated any heavyweight boxer that ever lived. Not hating here. peace.

not really, he just had that laid back, almost lazy style with keeping his hands down, he seemed to slow down his output when he felt he was winning his fights comfortably look at both Holyfield fights, when Lenny got lazy, he was eating punches, the same against Mavrovic, and as some posters pointed out, both McCall I and Rahman I where it backfired

Olympic gold medalist, commonwealth gold medalist, British, Euro, and Commonwealth champion, 3 time world heavyweight champion, beat every man he faced as a pro, avenged both of his defeats, finished on top by defeating the next dominant champion from the next era at nearly 38 years old.

Read that and then fook off... :deal

For a guy 250lbs and the size of Lewis I think he does OK.

TIGHT closed. Not even just that, he's not even looking where the punch is going It was a blessing in disguise. Had he not lost he may have stayed with Corea even longer and those bad habits would have become further ingrained. He would never have developed into the pugilist specialist without Manny

I didn't think there was any debate over what you're saying. Manny spotted the flaw, and drilled McCall to see the opening and exploit it.

Rahman was all about conditioning. Lennox was gasping for air from round 2. Manny said the prep was wrong, George Foreman said his prep was wrong. The only person said he knew better was Lennox.

He was slow out the blocks against Bruno, but that fight was brought forward because of bad weather, and I'm pretty sure he was asleep when the news came through about the time change.

I dont buy into this 'gassing', sorry. He was a genuine athlete

Lennox legacy is worth far more than $50,000,000, why, at the end of his career, after having made his point, would he consider it, even for 100 mill?
