A pattern I've been noticing in the big fights promoted by him is the quality or the lack thereof in the undercards. This problem seems more pronounced especially for Brit fights. Discuss.
Compared to what we get next week on Wilder Fury yes They didn't even have a filler fight for a 1 hour span, instead we had to listen to Bellew talk about AJ's muscles & Fury Wilder was scraped together following a legal dispute.
Yes He chucks a couple half-decent names on there in completely one-sided matchups and then spends half an hour with Koogs telling Matchroom FC how STACKED the card is People were really trying to tell me that the Joshua Usyk card was stacked just because Okolie and Smith were on it LOL
The mismatches are glaringly obvious, my memory fails me but the only really good scrap I can recall right now was the Quigley-Mosley fight on the Haney-Linares undercard.
It’s a DAZN issue. I wish they at least would have a decent co feature, but no. Fury/Wilder undercard is stout.
Yes. a lot of this cards have only one interesting fighter and it's main event. Wilder vs Fury 3 - has 8 fighters that I am interesting to see fighting.
Hasn’t always been the case. I remember we once got Kevin Mitchell v Jorge Linares and Anthony Crolla in a good scrap on a kell Brook undercard (his opponent was garbage tho)
In every fightnight he has to: 1) put 2 chicks trying to box (and failing) 2) put a former champion's son who is average at most vs some average joe, so that the father's son can win and build a hype. To be fair, sacrificing 2 fights of the under card like that.... it's difficult to create a good fight night (if not impossible). Any other promoter without those handicaps can do better with no effort at all.
