Is it just me or has Eddie stopped talking about DAZN?

I could be wrong, but I’ve noticed over the last few months that Eddie seems to have almost completely stopped talking about DAZN.

I know he was in LA the other day talking to GGG , but apart from that there appears to be zero talks of new fighters and I don’t hear much about any upcoming US Shows.

I think everybody accepts that he is under tremendous pressure with the lack of top signings and presumed poor subcription uptake etc but, if I’m not talking rubbish, could the end of his American adventure be shortly coming?

Didn't he recently announce that he's got a card scheduled for January 18th or am I imagining that?

I know Hearn is interviewed a lot, but he can't mention everything every single time.

Sky might not be happy about him banging on about the amazing deal DAZN is.

Eddie Hearn isnt the only promoter that DAZN has. DAZN uses other promoters to make fights too. When Eddie initially sold DAZN he was pretending it would be "his channel", that simply isnt the case. He is just one of a number of promoters being used, and perhaps DAZN is now looking at other promoters with a better resume in the USA to build out its US fighter base.

Eddie also pissed off a lot of people in the USA (fighters included), with his childish insults aimed at Shelley Finkel. Adrien Broner went public with the offer he had from Hearn out of respect for Finkel and anger at Hearn. The offer Hearn made to Broner was derisory by US standards, because he doesnt understand that US fighters are paid alot in off the book bonuses. Thats the kind of thing that shows his inexperience in dealing with US fighters.

I feel it could have something to do wih Oscar De La Hoya also trying to sign up fighters with DAZN, I think many people were under the illusion that Matchroom had exclusivity with DAZN as a platform, now that Goldenboy have moved Canelo there, can see it being easier for Goldenboy rather than Matchroom to sign fighters stateside due to already having a presence in America, like Oscar recently tried with Gervonta Davies.

Eddie basically has an established player in Goldenboy who he now has to compete with, they're going to be competing to sign up most of the top fighters on the same platform, I imagine as an American fighter, you'd rather choose Oscar to manage you if the deal on the table were the same as Matchroom

Bear in mind Schuab is a paid Showtime employee and massive Wilder fan. It’s quite possible he is biased. But I like the guy

I would love to know the budget Goldenbiy got. They backed Canelo and backed Hearn surely the couldn’t have given Goldenbiy big bucks too. They need to turn a profit at some point and have money in the pot for other sports

Canelo got an 11 fight deal worth at least $365m.
After all Hearn's hot air he's not made much of an impact.

Yeah, Jan 18th, Feb 23rd, Mar 15th and 23rd are his dates for the first 3 months of 2019. Signed Michael Hunter. Get the feeling hes holding out stuff for the coming days and the increased attention DAZN will get from the Canelo fight. Golovkin signing announcement is also imminent apparenty.

It's pretty snakey building his brand off of the sky machine while shilling a potential future rival.

Can Sky really do anything about it? If they cut Matchroom loose theyre inviting DAZN in much earlier than need be. Frank Smith talking about Matchroom/DAZN eventually increasing to 100 cards worldwide, and replicating the UFC model for the biggest cards. Its obvious where Matchrooms heart really lies.

Hearn isn't stupid, over saturation could backfire in a huge way, there is no point on banging on about DAZN while there are no cards or no big cards to promote right now.

As soon as Hearn sticks a big card on he'll start banging on again and again.

I'm hoping he takes David Price to Amercia and leaves him there, let the DAZN audience put up with David "Hamster Lungs" Price and his endless last chances.

Sky is uk boxing as they get the masses in. matchroom's 2nd wind is due to getting sole advertisement on the sky channels and sky sports news. even bellew and whyte have become major stars due to this.

They could easily cut eddie out and deal with the major ppv stars only.

Yes Sky has given sole rights to Eddie

But Eddie has rogered them by using the platform his fighters have from Sky to use another platform.

Sky must be logical here and be looking at offering other promoters a deal.
