Is it just me or has Eddie stopped talking about DAZN?

Yes, I believe Oscar will get the contract to take over as lead promoter. It seems it’s just a matter of time, unless Eddie pulls something drastic out of the bag.

Exactly. This is not a story. Whoever pays the most gets the fight.

It's no different with a Canelo fight on DAZN which isn't a guaranteed to go on Sky as the highest bidder will get the fight. DAZN is not a Eddie Hearn business and if showtime were prepared to pay more then that's just how it goes.

Usyk v Bellew could of gone to showtime or ESPN if they paid the money.

It is a story and you know it. Whyte is Eddie’s no 2 attraction and Eddie is already under huge pressure to justify his own position on the stream and deliver meaningful content to DAZN..now it seems even his bosses are not interested enough in his events. I wonder if they even bid for it...I have my doubts.

A week after Canelo when they should be desperate to deliver more content the following week to keep the subscribers who signed up and they get outbid by Showtime..

This is DAZN with the so called massive resources to make showtime obsolete

Anyway, let’s see how Eddie addresses it tomorow.

I don't see it like that at all. Just read back on the quotes from AJ v Povetkin going on dazn.

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...eavyweight-titles-to-a-streaming-service/amp/

Despite the fact that Joshua will headline the first DAZN card in the U.S., Hearn wouldn't go as far as saying the deal officially closes the door to his fighter ever appearing on Showtime.

"No, not really. I spoke to Stephen Espinoza, and he emailed me yesterday," Hearn said. "This is not about closing doors, really. This is about a platform that have offered considerably more money than anyone else. This is about a platform that Anthony and I see a future in. It was a good opportunity. How long will Joshua fight on DAZN? We'll see.

"This is a major coup for DAZN and certainly the plan is to stay on there and have a longterm relationship. DAZN also understands that there are opportunities for Joshua with other broadcasters. There may be an opportunity for DAZN to link up with another broadcaster on this fight and show the delayed rights to increase Joshua's profile and reach, as well."

This is simply about money. As I said DAZN are their own business and will decide what they deem to be value for money. The fact that showtime are still on the hunt kills that story that Espinoza and Hearn's relationship was dead.

Did dazn bid? I don't know but in light of the above quotes it shouldn't come as a surprise that if they did and were outbid the fight goes elsewhere. That's just economics 101.

Only last month DAZN showed Usyk v Bellew. Now if going forward DAZN where not getting any of the matchroom ppv's I would say you have an argument to question what is going on but trying to draw conclusions for them not showing Whyte v Chisora when it's going to a rival network seems futile.

“Matchroom and DAZN have to be in synergy ... DAZN is not a risk it’s a reward ... they pay more money than anyone else”

Legit quotes from Hearn when he announced the deal. This isn’t exactly synergy for Showtime to be hosting one of Matchroom’s biggest UK PPVs of the year. DAZN had unlimited coffers a while back, so you really think they were outbid by Showtime?

I know this will hurt since you are an ardent Hearn bum boy but clearly there is something to this. All signs suggest that your bumlord’s influence at DAZN is waining.

Not sure how that quote is relevant to this at all?

As you say legit quotes from Hearn when he announced his deal with DAZN. The same deal which from day 1 never included matchroom UK ppv's.

Do please explain the relevance though.

If this was an AJ fight then yeah that would be very much different.

Oh and your obsessions with men's bums is worrying.

“If you want to fight Canelo or Joshua you have to be on DAZN.”

Another Hearn quote. So what is AJ’s bodyguard doing on Showtime lol?

For Joshua Hearn has said dazn have first and last bid on any of his fights. So they get the first offer. If anyone beats it they can top it by a dollar...

I assume thats the same for any uk ppv fight rather than a Joshua clause.

So he's got more money for a fight.

and yet people see this as a negative.

People with their agendas sure are twisting things!

@Puroresu_Fan the only other slant you could possibly put on this is that DAZN think Whyte-Chisora is a **** fight not worth paying for. They have virtually unlimited coffers in boxing and they’ve passed on this fight. That doesn’t bode well for Hearn who is a matchmaker and promoter on DAZN’s platform. And he has repeatedly mooted Whyte as a future opponent for AJ.

Only you could put a positive spin on this you melt.

I didn't put any slant on it. I just gave an opinion and tried to give a reasoning behind it. Now yes it may well be the case DAZN don't see the value in the fight which is what I said in the first post. They have a business and will determine what they see as adding value. On the flipside showtime clearly feel the fight is a good fight for them.

Unlike you who anything matchroom related is agenda driven I actually try and give some reasoning behind my opinion unlike you which runs in autopilot 'I hate Eddie Hearn'

Once again you are using quotes in the completly wrong context.

How does that quote have anything to do with a Whyte v Chisora fight. Whyte v Chisora has nothing to do with AJ.
