Is it just me, or is Wahid's resume aging quite well?

    I'll be honest, I didn't think any of Tanks were superfights as they happened.

    But they've all improved since the fight happened and that's now undeniable.

    I don't know how fight Davis can go though, he looked tiny at LWW

    The revenue suggested it was a superfight.

    Tanks resume aging like wine! Pitbull and Ryan were top tier wins.

    His resume is aging well but the issue is he's fighting these guys before they manage to do anything substantial. Guys who have established themselves as elite he doesn't fight.

    Santa Cruz was a reigning champion with a borderline hof career. Hector Garcia (at 130), Barrios, and Pedraza were reigning, undefeated champions.

    I agree, wholeheartedly.

    But I feel like he's managed to fluke his way into a situation where he's now prime, has a solid resume beneath him and has elite names that he'll feel are beatable (Loma, Garcia, Haney, Lopez, Matias, Pitbull).

    Like I get the sense the world is at his fingertips now, and for a long while it didn't seem that way at all.

    Santa Cruz was undersized, Hector Garcia was a pretty good fighter at best and Pedraza was a solid win but it was 7 years ago. Since then he's been careful with who he fights. Out of all his main peers he fought Ryan who had to chase him down and agree to all his stipulations to make the fight and who at the time was also by far the least accomplished of them. No Loma, no Haney, no Teo, no Shakur.

    He's avoiding African American boxers, like Gene Tunney did. What's he waiting fro, a message from Allah? Ask Haney how that worked for him.

    LSC started his career 18 years ago at 115lbs. Won titles at 118, 122, 126 and 130, but his best form was in the 118-122 range.
    Him fighting Tank for his 135 title is another showing of a fighter trying to find his limit.
    LSC is a high volume type of guy, with not a lot of pop even at the lower weight classes who still tried to go at the best of each division to cement his legacy.
    Then you have Tank on the other side, doing the exact opposite.

    I can tell you were angry when you typed all of that out, but you might want to check and see if Tank ever fought LSC at 135.

    I'm sure you'd come with something.

    Haney=drained, chinny and unproven
    Loma=old, undersized (aka the LSC Special)
    Shakur=green
    Teo=COVID+only beat LSC Special version of Lomachenko

    Everyone wants to see Wahid fight the best fighters, you should include yourself in that.

    Sure, but he's holding up fine against his contemporaries in terms of resume and is outperforming all but Shakur. Frank Martin is up next.

    The real problem is that Shakur isn't getting any big fights.

    I disagree there.

    Lomachenko has fought at a much higher level.
    Haney has fought at a much higher level.
    Stevenson has fought at a much higher level.
    Lopez has fought at a much higher level.

    Wahid has fought guys ranked in the top 5-10 and guys who have gone on to have success.

    But he has never once faced the number guy in a division. So he doesn't hold up to comparison with his contemporaries.

    He fought a dehydrated Garcia and ducked Loma. Fully rehydrated Garcia, prime Loma, teo, and matias still own him
