Is it just me when I say Deontay Wilder has the aura of Mike Tyson surrounding him?

The Tyson who lost to McBride and Williams would knock Wilder out LOL... Wilder knocks out stiffs, Tyson knocked out world class fighters. Big difference.

Since Tysons debut in 1985, the only guy who has come close to the aura of Mike Tyson is Gennady Golovkin and even he is nowhere near Tysons level.

The difference is, Golovkins fellows avoid him like the plague, whereas Tysons division basically had nowhere to run and nowhere to hide.

That speaks volumes about how great Tyson was and how great his aura was.

Lots of wannabes have come and gone like Tua, Mercer, Morrison, 'White Tyson' Chagaev, Chisora, but no one has reached those heights that Tyson did.

Wilder has more in common with Shannon Briggs....plenty of highlight 1st round kos over bums and has beens or never weres. No actual wins of any depth.

In fact, Tysons Ko of Etienne is better than anything Wilder has done his entire career

We know you're the president :bananamaniac of the DW fan club on esb...
and your fanaticism regarding DW is obvious. At any rate I'm still going to ask.

Why should we hope DW is for real?

What do you mean by "revive". Most likely it's to have a US champ, or a black US champ?
Most wish the contenders would fight each other more often, and certain HWs would step up to a live body. So yeah, it can always be "better". However I and many others think the HW div. is doing as well as it usually has. Would Fury as champ "revive" the HW div? How about Pulev? :think

Do you realize that there's an entire world out there outside of the US, regardless of race, national origin, religion, etc? And that Americans come from many parts of that world ! :deal

    it's just you.

no one knows who DW is yet. everyone knew who mike was at this stage in his career. DW has hardly headlined any shows. tyson was headlining before he got to his 20th bout.

Tyson was feared because of how he beat fighters not who he beat, his resume is poor. That said Wilder is a clown, I hope that whoever lays him out the first time just starts yelling "Boooomb Squad"

He could have been good for boxing and I might have liked him but his antics are trash

I think this is far more justified now. :)

Wilder has really shown us his stuff in his last outing.
