Is it Kevin Mitchell's time to make his name in British Boxing?

Calzaghe gone, and Ricky down. Kevin is only 24, 27-0 and is ticket seller. He has his first World title shot this Summer.

Is he the wildcard in the pack?

Where would you rank his potential British P4P potential against, Froch, Khan & Haye?

  2. Some of our guys really have to step up to the plate now

Jamie Moore, Rendall Munroe and Kell Brook need to really sort some good fights out now

    Yeah i agree :good
i think kevin mitchell could be a future world champ too, loads of potential. his career's took a bit of a dip lately tho aint it, where's he been? i cant remember seeing him fight since the johannsen fight...
Munroe seemed to struggle last time out too. still a good fighter though

Kevin Mitchell is too easy to hit and is asking to be tonked. Martinez will stop him late.

He's entertaining to watch, but i don't see him beating a world operator.

I like burns but come on, he got beat by both Arthur and Johansson. He's a wee bit short of world title level.

i agree 2 years ago both arthur and carl came far to soon for burns, ricky would now reverse both results,he has improved bundles and continues to do so,so yes he fully deserves a world title shot, but first he must overcome stephen foster jnr a tough fight.

Bingo. I like Kevin alot but the kid found his level when he faced whatshisname from Leeds. I reckon he can win a fringe title like the WBO, but because he's and SN fighter Frank makes sure there comfortable first economically. Because of that they spend year beating up tin cans which isnt the right way to start a career.

    I'd go along with that.

Being taken to within a single clean shot of being stopped by Carl Johanneson wouldn't suggest Mitchell will succeed at world level - bearing in mind Carl has been brutally halted twice at EBU.

Kevins comfortable. That kid is set financially now. He doesnt need boxing anymore. He only lives a stone throw from my mums and when he was younger was always smashing up his cars that he'd bought his money from Frank. He's settle a bit more but he doesnt need the fight game anymore. I dont think he'll achieve much more than domestic level in boxing.

    Seriously?

I didn't think they made that much at the lower levels?
