Pac agree to a blood and urine test right after the fight.

The fighters are free to dope themselves before the testing starts. Lets use the Mayweather-Mosley testing as a basis. Their testing started 6 weeks before the fight and would then end 14 days before fight night in the case of a Pac - Floid fight. That's only 4 weeks of (blood) testing. (6 weeks is equally poor really and nothing to be proud of.) In most sports you're more or less done with your doping program at that time or earlier still. The effects of a steroid/testosterone/growth hormone/insulin/growth factor program will last you much more than 6 weeks, no need (or use) to continue the during the last 14 days.
In the case of EPO you would have to maintain your hematocrit value by administering low doses during the 6 week urine testing phase because excess blood cells are broken down quite fast. I trust this is quite doable.

Obviously most of this applies to the Mosley - Mayweather testing scheme too.

Why are you asking this question to these dick heads on this site? None of these ****s knew anything about PEDs before December and they still don't now. Go read some medical journals, credible sources and form your opinion from there. Asking these fanboys is futile.

Actually, there is one poster on ESB qualified to discuss this topic. Everyone else can be safely ignored.

Look for posts made by 3rdIslander.

If I can recall correctly, the summary of his points was this:

    1) random urine testing is sufficient if it is done correctly.

He's disqualified or his nowledge is out of date or you remembered wrongly, heh.
You could always listen to me, I will at least give you an informed opinion, at least on tests. Not so much on use though (but this is a discrepancy that exists with testing agencies, too, albeit a much smaller one than mine). Academic journals are, incidently, not a good source for use I'm afraid, but good for testing procedures.

Read my revious posts months before and you will get the same reason!

Dope testing can be done using urine, albeit expensively.

I did not study medicine to not understand nedical journals. But all the *****s here would just keep on spouting the same thing : "you don't know boxing."

Like this EPO thing with regards to the time frame of 2 weeks!

Medical journals clearly states that EPO response in 2 weeks is a 1 %vol of hematocrit increase. That is a neglible increase for that certain timefreame!

Besides EPO does not make you stronger or faster. It increases endurance but virtue of more oxygen carrying capacity of the RBC but not by a significant factor. However, if it is a tour de france where they are racing for 2-3 hours, it would probably mean victory or podium finish.

On the other hand, it is also dangerous becaus the thicker the blood is, the higher the riskm of having embolic phenomenon,m especially if it is accentuated by dehydration, which is also common in boxing.

Technically, there are certain PEDS that are beneficial to a boxer. Steroids/testosterone would be one (double edge sword as well because gaining muscle makes you heavier, thereby making you go higher in division where your strength gain might be negated by bigger opponents). HGH is not one of those because it does give benefit to a certain kind of athletes.

EPO would definitely give advantage but you can get the benefit of EPO without resorting to administrering recombinant EPO. Altitude training is a legit way of increasing EPO.

You have to consider cycling-off time, say a week. That leaves a only a week of cycling in. With that in mind...

14 days? Yes it is manageable. Not get caught? Possible. Benefits? Virtually negligible.

So then, going by what you posted, 14 day testing or testing up to the fight won't make a difference anyways because you are getting your doping done before it starts, not after it ends.

There does not seem to be any reason for Floyd to stick to testing up until the fight other than he doesn't want the fight or it is a negotiation tactic. But it cannot logically be explained as a way to keep Manny honest and steroid free.

Basically yes, there's not much in terms of detectable substances that you can take during two weeks that doesn't show up in urine. CERA epo perhaps (although that does show up in urine sometimes) but a good cheater should have his blood cell count covered anyway.
To me, it really doesn't matter what they do or don't do anymore. As long as they are not implementing the WADA code this is just a show.

there is going to be urine tests, so this point of view is not applicable to the pac/floyd situation.

Well then who would you listen too?

WADA or their partners are not to be taken at face value even though their intentions are good.
Conte is a good source but I suspect you choose to ignore him too for one or another reason.
Journalists? Certainly not boxing journalists I hope.

I have been following doping in sports for almost two decades, I have an education that enables me to understand the literature and the scientific debate. I have no agenda. Admittedly I don't have contacts to elite sports anymore and I'm not always up to date (and rarely post). But you could do worse.

You got it. Good for you lol.

This is what we are saying all along and why I say Floyd is just being a jerk. This is probably the reason why Floyd is not bringing this to the commission. Remember Arum saying let Mayweather present their case to the commission and they will present their case too. Then whatever the commission decided after that they will both follow. Mayweather know their case upon close and unbiased scrutiny will get destroyed because of the explanation above. It doesn't make sense.
